Earlier this month Alice Weidel, co-chair of the AfD party in Germany, described Hitler (in a fawning chat to Elon Musk) as "a communist, socialist guy". Yesterday King Charles described "the act of remembering the evils of the past" as "a vital task" on #HolocaustMemorialDay.
So here's an adaptation of Prokofiev's 1930s "Dance of the Knights" that we're calling: "Hitler Was(n't) Socialist."

And we're doing it all again tomorrow in London!
Talking all things #InclusiveLibraries so that librarians feel empowered to champion unheard voices, and provide a safe space for young people to explore cultures, identities and intersectionality.
I could listen to @jeffreykboakye ALL DAY. What a call to action. A fierce, rousing call for equity, literacy, the humanities. "Reading IS social justice". Wow. @Literacy_Trust @PenguinUKBooks @BL_Learning #inclusivelibraries

A bit rough around the edges in v. busy first full week back at school/work, but while bandwagon's rolling, here's a little musical parody setting the #PostOfficeScandal & #MrBatesVsThePostOffice to a @BonnieTOfficial 🎶classic. We're calling it: "They Should Be Cleared, Though!"

I was in hospital on three occasions in November and December, including over Christmas, and the doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff were FANTASTIC. I fully support their strike and wish them better pay, better working conditions and MORE funding for the NHS. #SaveTheNHS

93% of young people we talked with said that lyrics often serve as a therapeutic tool.
In these challenging times, it's crucial that projects enabling this work can survive and thrive.

"If That Day Comes Round" is our new song🎶- inspired by hopes for peace on #RemembranceSunday, & an end to the suffering of innocents in #Gaza & #Israel. It was sparked by the closer by @PatricKielty on @RTELateLateShow, hoping for a miracle.

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. The best way to mark it? With kindness. In fact, that's probably the best way to approach EVERY day if we can, though circumstances may intervene to make that easier said than done. Anyway, look after yourselves and (maybe) others. GROUP HUG!

It’s a historian’s *actual job* to rewrite history. I wish people would make the slightest effort to understand that.

A thought for the new academic year. What's the most important thing you can help kids to do? Get good test scores? No, it turns out READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest impact on children's life chances. Help them fall in love with books, and you'll change their lives forever.
