Boosting 🇪🇺 defence production, strengthening security of supply & reducing dependency on components from 3rd countries! €168.2mln under #EDIP will support 8 projects to scale up production of energetic components for missiles, drones, ammunition across 17 sites in 14 MSs & 🇳🇴.

Today I welcomed in Brussels 🇱🇹Prime Minister @mindaugassink of @LithuanianGovt 🇪🇺@EU_Commission and 🇱🇹#LT27EU Presidency both share many priorities to pursue: defence, security, resilience, enlargement. Looking forward to our cooperation towards safer 🇪🇺!

Today 5 first EDPCIs with a envisaged funding ambition of around EUR 190bn by 2036 were launched. This is a major breakthrough to close 🇪🇺 most critical cabality gaps in the areas of air&missile defence, drones&counter-drones, maritime and seabed, space&Eastern Flank Watch. 1/2

Starting my mission to the Netherlands w/meeting 🇳🇱 National Defence Committee. Politicians are the driving force behind key decisions on national & EU #DefenceReadiness. I welcome 🇳🇱 commitment to 🇺🇦, ramp-up of 🇪🇺 defence industry & more resilience.

Military mobility - key enabler for 🇪🇺 defence. @PortOfRotterdam - key entry point for Allies. @EU_Commission’s Military Mobility Package shall reduce bottlenecks & increase logistical potential. I hope trilogues will be successful & we will make a change in speed&scale.

The EU🇪🇺 will manufacture a lot satellites🛰️. But to deliver, we need more EU launchers 🚀! For EU economy, defence & climate!   I will go on a "Launch Tour" to visit launch, manufacturing, test facilities. And in 2027, I will present an Action Plan on European Access to Space.

Following #SOTEU, today I had a discussion w Defence Minister Khmara on next steps in 🇺🇦 support. 🇪🇺-backed Ukraine support loans are critical for defending 🇺🇦 skies. We’ll intensify our work w 🇺🇦 to deliver more defence capabilities & better integrate 🇪🇺&🇺🇦 defence industries!
