We move directly from Grandpa and his lover’s promise to Winton and max Max tells Winton, “Go and chase your dream.” Winton asks him whether he’ll be okay, and max reassures him that he’ll wait for him too. But will his grandson recognise his own before it’s too late? honestly, i think this teaser is much deeper than just a story about a grandfather trying to find his lost love. what makes it so interesting to me is how the two generations seem to mirror each other. grandpa spent most of his life hiding his true self and suppressing his feelings until he reached a point where he realised he might not have another tomorrow to make things right. meanwhie max seems unable to understand the desperation of loving someone so deeply that you’re willing to risk everything just for one more chance to see them. and that’s why i think his grandfather’s story is going to be so important to him. what caught my attention the most was the parallel between the two promises to wait for each other. the transition from grandpa and his lover to winton and max wasn’t just beautiful, it felt intentional, almost as if we’re being shown a possible reflection of their future.
