The worst take I've seen on LinkedIn this week/month/quarter/year: Agency owners advocating for founders to use an AI avatar to distribute their content.

This year we've read about multiple people in politics needed psychiatric help. I've even seen some admit they've been diagnosed with PTSD from working on a political campaign. Some have public mental breakdowns multiple times a year on social media.

I have a couple buddies in a group chat. We message every day and say nothing. Just share a score from a geography game. It's the only text I look forward to sending every day.

Given Tuesday’s results, it’s time to repost this from last year. On principle, redistricting should be done only once every ten years. In practice, it backfired big time on Rs this cycle as they watered down solid R districts. It shouldn’t have been done in the first place.
I want to win 5 more seats in the House. But mid-census change in Texas is not the way to do it. Even politics must have rules. Gerrymandering should be done once every ten years - by all states. Otherwise, there are no rules and it’s the equivalent of all- out, political wars all the time - simply to gain power. No state should gerrymander until 2032, including Texas. It’s fair to everyone this way. Even politics should be conducted in a fair manner.

some experts are saying that if Trump got Daylight Savings Time full time passed into law, Republicans would've held on to the Senate.

There are successful companies today who built a dashboard with some connectors in Claude chat and are now selling it as a paid tool thinking it's a differentiator. They're guarding a prompt as IP. It's antiquated already. And for some reason, it's kind of working for some.

Today I built a deal prediction engine for a B2B services client. It joins every quote they’ve sent since 2021 with the emails, calls, proposals and buyer activity around it, then tests about 100 signals against how each deal ended.

Every Monday each rep gets a win chance on their open deals and the specific moves that closed similar ones. Every prediction is graded when the deal closes, so it gets sharper on its own. Use AI to work smarter and use the extra time to personalize

The US is a place where immigrants will come here illegally and then make TikTok videos about the injustices they see (in their native language)

I really want to love Claude Duet but I’m never using Claude chat and it doesn’t show up in Claude Code app. This displeases me

Politics shouldn't be pop culture. The TMZification The podcasters The wannabe influencers Wondering why congresswoman had botox or who's dating who. Tiktok We're in an unprecedented era. The challenges are great. And we are consumed by media that needs soundbytes.

I want a Republican Party that listens to the people in the neighborhood, not those who think they speak for the people behind their camera all day

Nonsense, dude. In 2024 Trump won 55% of Hispanics in Texas and 34% of Black men. Was it conveniently demographics then? We had every opportunity to deliver and didn’t. Instead, those voters got a costly war that raised gas prices and diesel. Prolonged tariffs that increased the costs of goods, and a poorly executed immigration policy that turned people off—and that’s putting it mildly. The “it’s the demographics” excuses should fall on deaf ears because if that were true, there’s no way in hell we would’ve gotten the numbers we received in 2024. There was a generational opportunity to realign crucial voting blocs and Republicans screwed up. Instead of making excuses, the party needs to have a serious reality check about what is obviously not working and move forward so that the focus can be on 2028 and 2032.
In 1970, the White population in Texas was 89%. In 2000, it was 50%. Now it’s less than 39%. Demographics is destiny.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
In 1970 the White population included Hispanic people because surveys in Texas didn't ask about Hispanic ethnicity as a separate question from race. In 2000 the White population for just race was 71%. Today White is 74% and "White, not Hispanic" sorted for ethnic origin is 37%. census.gov/quickfacts/TX

If Trump actually did his job and signed the TikTok ban, he probably wins the "let's all celebrate Charlie Kirk's viral assassination" midterm election.
