Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. βBibi calls Trump about it every day,β says an informed observer.
Netanyahu is cornered and desperate. After last weekβs election results, he canβt form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war.
To that end, heβs applied maximum pressure to his closest allies in the administration, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM commander Brad Cooper. Both oppose a negotiated settlement to the war theyβve so grievously mismanaged; both are pushing to restart major combat operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA director John Ratcliffe are also following Netanyahuβs lead, as are leaders of the Democratic Party. In a recent meeting on the subject, former president Barack Obama said he opposes the current Iran peace deal being drafted in Doha.
The rest of Americaβs longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified by the prospect of more war. On September 27th, Netanyahu flew secretly to Abu Dhabi to enlist the UAE in his lobbying effort for a final attack on Iran. The Emiratis refused. After eight months of conflict, Gulf economies are teetering. So are global energy and fertilizer markets. They wonβt recover soon. Globally, there are a total of about 850 supertankers used to transport oil from producers to the rest of the world. In October alone, 11 of them were badly damaged in Hormuz. At this pace, a global depression is imminent. A nuclear strike would radically accelerate the destruction. Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people.
And those are just some of the immediate consequences for the region. The rest of the world is every bit as exposed. No country other than the United States has ever used a nuclear weapon in war. Some would like to. An American nuclear attack on Iran would set a new precedent. The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final.
Weβve been sleepwalking toward this moment for months. Since February, the administration has quietly rewritten Americaβs nuclear doctrine to make first use of so-called βbattlefield nukesβ easier and therefore more likely. No one in Washington in either party seems bothered by this. Now weβre on the brink of it.
Close observers say Trump is likely to decide by next weekend whether or not to use nuclear weapons. That would be November 7, six days from now. To his credit, heβs hesitating. At the moment, Trump is listening to his vice president, JD Vance, and to his envoy and friend Steve Witkoff, both of whom argue a deal with Iran can be made.
Theyβre right, though it wonβt be simple. The Iranians are famously frustrating to negotiate with under any circumstances, and elements of that government have become more radical since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family were killed in February. After decades of isolation, even relatively moderate Iranian leaders seem confused by how decisions are made in the West. (There is a widespread belief in Tehran, for example, that the United States government controls Israel.) But overall, people who have spoken to decision-makers in Iran say there is consensus there that more war is bad for everyone and a deal is worth making.
One group that hasnβt been consulted so far is the global population β the hundreds of millions of people who will be killed along with their children if Trump is pushed by Netanyahu into launching a nuclear strike next week. Now would be the time for them to speak up.

Idk how to say this but every time I try on pants at the thrift store I feel like Iβm butt naked jacking off with loaded gun in my mouth fat as fuck
Every time I see one of these posts I am reminded of my favorite joke that always goes over with the bros, something like
two men are sitting in a diner, one in his 20s and the other in his 70s. The older man can tell the younger man is really upset and asks "are you ok son? You seem to be having a real tough time" and the younger man says "well, I just got off the phone with my girlfriend. We've been together for a few years now and she's really putting the pressure on about wanting to get married and start a family, but my folks got divorced when I was a kid and marriage just seems so scary to me. But I love her so much and I don't want to lose her. Are you married sir?" and the older man says "I am, in fact my wife and I recently celebrated our 50th anniversary."
So the younger man says "that's amazing, I'd love that to be us. Do you mind me asking how did you know she was THE ONE?"
The older man tells him "its actually a funny story, when I was your age I was a bit of a playboy, always going out with different women every night and it was pretty routine for me to have 2 or 3 steady girlfriends at a time. But a lot of my friends were settling down and starting families and I started thinking about how I wanted that for myself. The problem was I was seeing 3 different women at the time, and every one of them was someone I could really see building a life and a future with. All 3 were smart and funny and beautiful and I always had a great time with each of them. So I decided I'd give each one $100, that was a lot of money back then!, and tell them to do whatever they wanted with it and I figured I'd get a good idea of what kind of wife and mother they would be by how they spent it.
So I gave the first girl I had been seeing the money and told her to do whatever she wanted and she said "well I tell you what I'm going to do with it, I'm going to go to the beauty parlor and get all done up, buy a new dress, and take you out on the town tonight. We'll go to your favorite restaurant and then out to a nightclub and you can make all the other fellas jealous!" And she really did look like a movie star, I was so proud to be seen with her on my arm and I thought what a fun time we would have as a couple.
Well then the next day I see the second woman I'd been seeing and tell her the same thing, and she thinks for a minute and says "well, I'd hate to spend all that money on myself. If its ok I'd like to give it to my brother, you know he and his family have really been going through some hard times. He was in that awful car wreck and had to be in the hospital for weeks. They've got a lot of bills piled up from that and this would really help him and his wife out so much, is it ok if I give to them?" and I thought what a kind and generous person she was, if she was that thoughtful to her brother and his family how much more would she be with ours.
Well then I see the third woman, and I give her the money and tell her the same thing. She thinks for a bit and says "I'm going to take this down to the bank and buy a savings bond with it. I don't really need anything right now but you never know what the future holds and it would be a good idea for us to start thinking about the future, this would be a good way to start." And I thought what a smart and practical woman, she'd make such a fantastic wife and mother, someone I know I could trust to make good decisions for our family."
The young man looks at him and says "wow, all that must have made it an even tougher decision. How did you decide?"
And the older man says "I picked the one with the biggest boobs."
