It’s nice to see younger Black voters who see their future on the line (& possibly their chance to live in a Democracy in the foreseeable future) stepping into this moment.
I hope that it holds and is a reflection of the nation as a whole.

But when we compare turnout to the same point in 2022, things get interesting. Turnout exceeds '22 except among older white and Black voters. The biggest overperformers are Gen X AAPI voters, and young Latina women.

It’s a topic worth exploring but you can tell it’s being deployed cynically to drive a wedge.
Ask yourself if Haley Stevens or Mallory McMorrow would be asked if speak on anti-Black racism among White people the same way Abdul is being asked on behalf of Muslims or Arabs.
The “Black people are chumps” who just support any democrat is getting a little old.
Looking at where we are today, Black people are the ONLY ones who overly understood how a second Trump presidency would drive this country into the ground.

doesn't mean there isn't a divide. muslims don't respect Black people. All it means it Black people are chumps who will support anyone who is a democrat. Black people have no self respect. We shouldn't support people who attack and disrespect our community.

Having seen it firsthand, this critique is accurate & only hurts Black voters:
“…the consultant class installs friendly operatives, charges fees, raids the party’s long-term assets & gives advice that serves itself over the long-term health of the party.”

Expect continued stories about a divide between the Black and Muslim communities in Detroit to lead this conversation in the media despite ACTUAL DATA showing Black people will be El-Sayed’s strongest supporters by a mile.

Just launched electionhub.org, which puts every key election in one place, shows results in real-time, and calculates majorities and flips.
Both federal and state elections included. Hopefully it makes election night a little easier.

“klan talk” ?!?!?? 🧐🧐🧐
When it was reported he expressed this privately during the first term, I asked him whether he said it. He wouldn’t fess up. And his aides screamed for us to get out of the Oval. He’s just letting the Klan talk rip now.

It’s been my mission to mobilize Black voters, so I hear you. But for decades the GOP has used racial fears & anti-Black messaging to get even the most politically apathetic white person off their couch. Black people want resources & systemic change. You tell me which is easier🤷🏾♂️

Right, so instead of turning black people who don't vote into voters who vote Democrat, they allow those marginal gains to be made for Republicans 1-3% points at a time, in EVERY community and then wonder how Republicans (even ones not named D. trump) keep winning.
So which is it 🤔🤔🤔
Glad to FINALLY see some of the bunk narratives getting some push back…
NYT: El-Sayed Needs Black Voters in Michigan. Tensions With Arab Americans Make That Harder.
Conflict between Michigan’s Black and Arab communities could get in the way of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s pitch in the critical Senate race.

Detroit’s Angelita Jones and Vickie Marshall say they don’t believe the narrative that older Black voters aren’t supporting Abdul El-Sayed.
“We’re excited… He’s for the people and we need a change.”

Detroit voter Nancy tells me she sees a generational divide among younger Black voters who are excited to vote for Abdul El-Sayed and older Black voters who are skeptical. She says the amount of older Black folks at today’s rally is encouraging.

El-Sayed supporter Miranda Turner says she’s not worried about Black voters not supporting Abdul. “If you know Black voters, they typically vote with what aligns with their best interests.”
This is absolutely the case for unlikely WHITE voters!
However, data suggests that only a small percentage of Black people who actually vote do so for Trump & there’s a rather large pool of Black people who may profess their support for Trump but it never turns into any action.
But do they VOTE? Data suggests that low-information Black voters (w/less educ) are the least likely to vote: 2024 data shows that Black people who supported Trump before the election we’re less likely have voted in 2020, or EVER. So while they may be loud, do they actually vote?
Oh, right…just like all the hysterical voices swore said they would come after voting rights…oh wait.
