Thank you to the dedicated members of our Air Support Unit. In just a few short weeks, Air3 has already helped our officers track suspects, support arrests, and prevent crime across our region. Their work is already making a meaningful impact; Always impressed by the professionalism and commitment of the team behind it. Thank you for the work you do from above to help keep Peel safe. 🚁

Today was the 28th Annual Alberta Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial. Members of the Edmonton Police Service and other law enforcement agencies paid tribute to the more than 100 Alberta police and peace officers killed in the line of duty since 1876. The names of ten Edmonton officers engraved on the Pillar of Strength monument are a constant reminder of the dangers and sacrifices that policing entails. “Their service, commitment to their communities, and their legacies continue to inspire those who wear the uniform today.” EPS Chief Warren Driechel told the families of the fallen. The names of Correctional Officers Nick Serban and Ramandeep Kaur were added to the monument following their deaths on August 6th. “We’re never alone in our grief or in our duty,” Chief Driechel told the crowd of dignitaries, police officers, and members of the public. “We honour the fallen by supporting one another.” Never forgotten. Forever remembered.

In policing, we spend a lot of time looking ahead. Today, in Ottawa, we take time to reflect. The Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Service honours the officers whose service ended too soon, and whose absence continues to be felt by families, friends, colleagues, and communities across the country. We remember them not only for the sacrifice they made, but for how they lived, served, and made a difference.

Honoured to attend the 25th anniversary commemorations of September 11, 2001. This video of Canadian police services marching alongside our U.S. law enforcement colleagues demonstrates that, we share the same commitment to service, sacrifice and one another.

Today, we remember Toronto Police Constable Andrew Hong, who was tragically killed while wearing the uniform here in Peel Region. Andrew's loss was felt by policing communities across the country, including here in Peel. As a dedicated police officer, he was also a husband, father, friend, and colleague. We honour Andrew's life, his service, and the legacy he left behind. Most importantly, we continue to keep his family, friends, and colleagues in our thoughts. He will not be forgotten.

I joined CNN today to discuss Canada-U.S. relations and President Trump’s executive order to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America.” 🇨🇦🇺🇸 Here in Canada, we’ll keep calling it Lake Ontario. The name Ontario has Indigenous roots dating back to the 1600s, and when our province was established in 1867, it adopted the name of the Great Lake along its shores. Canada and the United States have built one of the most successful partnerships in the world. We should be building on that relationship with our closest neighbour and partner — not tearing down our economies with tariffs, trade barriers and unnecessary provocations. We are stronger when we work together. – at Brampton, Ontario

A @TorontoPolice officer was shot overnight while responding to a robbery call. The officer has sustained serious injuries. Our thoughts are with the injured officer, the family, and all members of the Toronto Police Service. This unprecedented level of violence directed at police officers across Canada must end.

3 police officers have died by suicide in 3 days. Suicide is difficult to talk about. In policing, where stigma can still be a powerful barrier, that conversation can be even harder. Our policing community continues to grieve the deaths of these members and our thoughts remain with their families, friends and colleagues.
