Taking Fela and The Kalakuta Queens to the Lagos Motor Boat Club was one of those moments great audience, great energy, and a story that never gets old.
A little throwback to the night.

Receiving the Creative Vision and Cultural Impact Award from the U.S. Mission in Nigeria was one of those moments that made me pause and reflect. 🇳🇬🇺🇸
A reminder that our work, our stories, and the platforms we build truly matter.

Fela and the Kalakuta Queens is showing at the Lagos Motor Boat Club to celebrate Independence Day. Directed by yours truly. See you there! @Bapproductions_
Some moments make you pause and think, “Wow, look how far we’ve come.” ❤️
Having Professor Eric Neumayer, Sarah Cook, Ben and Corey from my alma mater, London School of Economics visit at Terra Kulture was one of those moments.
We toured the gallery, bookstore and theatre, watched a rehearsal, and shared meaningful conversations around culture, creativity, education and Africa’s future.
An institution that helped shape my journey, now coming to experience what I’ve gone on to build.
From LSE to Terra Kulture , a truly full circle. 🌍❤️

It is genuinely gratifying to see people enjoying and sharing a film that I produced and directed. As creators, we make stories to be seen, appreciated, and discussed, and I am always pleased when our work resonates with an audience. However, enjoyment and sharing should go hand in hand with proper acknowledgment. This page has used a substantial portion of my film without crediting the creator or rights holder. Creative work does not appear from nowhere. It requires time, talent, resources, dedication, and significant investment to bring these stories to life.If you choose to use, share, or feature someone else's work, the least you can do is acknowledge its source. Giving credit is not just a courtesy; it is a recognition of the effort, creativity, and commitment behind the work. Please enjoy the content, share it, and celebrate it, but do so responsibly. Respect the work. Respect the creator. Give credit where it is due. instagram.com/reel/DcN2HfqIn…
Thanks for the hype @juliemckay @USinNigeria Conviction was all I had and it's taken me far. Hope you follow your conviction too. To the creatives making things happen! Salute
Was indeed my pleasure to have a fire chat conversation around my journey and contributions to the arts space in Nigeria.
From Broadway to Nigeria's thriving theater scene, storytelling has long been the currency of vibrant creative collaborations between the United States and Nigeria—one where scripts turn into sold-out performances, and shared narratives turn into shared prosperity.
The most recent edition of Ìṣèdá turned the spotlight on theater, bringing together respected practitioners @bolanleap, Yibo Koko, @Omokabiyesi1, and @kennethuphopho for an inspiring conversation on the art of storytelling on stage.
Held monthly at Ouida Lagos in partnership with the Book Buzz Foundation, which is led by acclaimed author and U.S. government exchange alumna @lolashoneyin, each edition of Ìṣèdá focuses on a different creative industry and, provides a vibrant space for creatives to connect, showcase their work, exchange ideas, and spark new collaborations.
