I think it’s generally a nice thing to give fans the opportunity to support a charitable cause like this. They’re not forcing anyone to donate. I’m sure if there is a shortfall then the club/players will make up the difference. People are being overly cynical imo

Digger fans are hilarious. they’re patting themselves on the back for enjoying a film with a 3.8 rating on letterboxd. for reference, American Psycho and 28 Days Later currently sit at a 3.7

the problem with Digger is that the film tells us that certain parts of the film are “supposed to be bad” or “supposed to be un-funny”, but this doesn’t change the fact that the viewer is still made to ensure these bad parts which isn’t very fun lol

I think ultimately I loved that movie because I fucking hated Don’t Look Up. There were a disgusting twenty to thirty minutes where I thought it was just another Don’t Look Up and then everything fucking clicks

where we are left very confused by the opening act, but then, in a very satisfactory way, the rest of the film commits re-contextualising it. the payoff is great and the confusion is lifted. but in Digger that doesn’t happen, and instead the movie just feels confused throughout

(to clarify, the message of Digger is confused, rather than the movie being confusing. it’s ofc not a very confusing movie in terms of plot and content.) anyways i didn’t even dislike the film because there is some entertaining stuff going on and TC is hard carrying
