Kentucky residents played a loud recording of the noise pollution from data centers to show its disruptive impact.
Within seconds, county officials grew irritated and told them to βact like adultsβ and turn it off.
The corrupt politicians who vote for and push these data centers onto our communities couldnβt handle the piercing sound for a few seconds, yet expect residents to live with it every day.
Welcome to the USA, where politicians prioritize the bottom line of the corporations and billionaires that fund their campaigns over the needs of our people and communities.

Poundland, owned by US private equity firm Gordon Brothers, on brink of administration. 12,000 jobs at risk.
Gordon Brothers rejected a management-backed rescue bid. Probably thinks it can raise more from a breakup.
Destruction of town centres continues.

The real horror of Halloween.
Artificial cobweb: a bit of fake fun for you, but a very real and terrifying death for them.
If you see your neighbours using it, it's possible they don't know the danger so please print out this simple leaflet and pop it through their door:
tinyurl.com/HalloweenHedgehoβ¦
The fine, strong synthetic fibres of this lethal 'web' are difficult for animals to see at dusk and can quickly wrap around their legs, wings, and neck, trapping and killing birds, insects and mammals.
When Eden the hedgehog struggled to free herself the web tightened, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
Can you imagine the pain and sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless, only an inch above the ground but suffering slow strangulation.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
Tragically her constriction injuries were too severe to survive, and poor Eden had to be put to sleep.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, I beg you - take it down now.
Please spread this vital information, and help save lives.

Oh wow. This is true. The new bosses at @bbc consider climate change to be woke. Theyβve removed the climate heading on the news site. They want to downgrade reporting on the issue.
The BBC is a disaster when it comes to understanding whatβs happening to the planet.
Why is right wing ideology allowed to destroy the bbc @lisanandy

Left: President Trump insults Norway calling it a sh*thouse country
Right: Visit Norway, the tourism board, trolls President Trump, displaying some of their best toilets on their Instagram π
My view:
Trump chose to insult Norway. Visit Norway answered with humour, confidence and a showcase of its most beautiful loos.
Thatβs how you turn an insult into an invitation. Congratulations to Norway for responding with such grace - and giving us another reason to visit.
I've never been to Norway, but this is just another reason to visit π

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course.
He never told him and the boy didnβt find out until decades later.
By then, he was a knight, that little boyβs name was Patrick Stewart.
He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrickβs mother.
Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his fatherβs fist and his mother.
An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform.
He never stopped and left school at 15.
By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that.
In 1987, the LA Times called him an βunknown British Shakespearean actorβ when he was cast as Captain Picard.
Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth.
Youβve probably heard that part.
Hereβs the part you havenβt:
He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence.
But he never stopped trying to understand his father.
He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock.
He went to France and walked the ground where his fatherβs unit was pinned down under bombing for hours.
He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him.
So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans.
In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence.
He asked, βMy dear, are you okay?β
Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: βYou never have to go through that again, youβre safe now.β
At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him.
2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait.
He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, βHello Patrick.β
After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows.
He played every character himself and donated every cent.
In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers.
In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring.
She was his first dog in more than 50 years.
He couldnβt bring her home to England, so he found her a family.
Then he kept fostering more.
When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives.
So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time.
Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick π

Scotland just delivered one of the most powerful clean-energy statements in modern history. On multiple occasions, the countryβs wind turbines generated around 200% of national electricity demand, producing far more power than Scotland itself needed.
It can be done!!!
No time to wait. #ActOnClimate #renewables

I feel like Jared Kushner being at the center of the plot that ultimately led to an American journalist being dismembered via bone saw while he was still alive should be a much bigger deal than our billionaire owned news media is making of it.

Everyone needs to know what actually happened in Serbia.
Instead of students just protest against their government, the students organized themselves into a student list and ran in elections against their governmentβand they have just won.
Dear Serbia, congratulations on your victory; you have just opened a new door in protesting. This is history

NOPE.
This cannot be allowed to happen.
Jackdaw was climate vandalism but if Burnham nods Rosebank through, after saying he would not, we know he's just following orders from Trump.
This would be a catastrophic decision for Labour but most importantly, the climate.
Shocking.
