A $10,000 account doesn't know you want to make $50,000 this year. The market doesn't adjust itself to your financial goals. Your expectations need to fit your capital. Your risk needs to fit both.

CANADIAN REAL ESTATE: THE ANATOMY OF AN 80-YEAR BUBBLE History doesn't repeat itself exactly. But human psychology has a remarkable tendency to repeat itself. The accompanying Economic LongWave chart illustrates a theoretical trajectory of Canada's real estate supercycle from 1946 through a potential future debt-deflationary collapse. It is not a prediction of exact prices or dates. It is a historical framework built around the recurring psychology of financial manias, credit expansion, and eventual deleveraging. Consider the four phases: 🏠 1946–1980 | Stealth Phase Postwar prosperity, suburbanization, household formation, and expanding access to mortgage credit established housing as an increasingly important household asset. 📈 1980–1996 | Awareness Phase Financial liberalization, expanding mortgage markets, and changing credit conditions gradually transformed housing finance. The 1989 Toronto bubble and subsequent collapse provided an early warning of what excessive leverage and speculation could produce. 🔥 1996–2020 | Mania Phase Declining interest rates, expanding household debt, increasingly generous financing, and speculative demand helped propel Canadian real estate valuations far beyond historical norms in several major markets. Housing increasingly became more than shelter. It became a leveraged vehicle for accumulating wealth. 🚀 2020–2022 | Blow-Off Phase Emergency monetary stimulus, exceptionally low mortgage rates, pandemic-era demand, and speculative enthusiasm helped produce an extraordinary final acceleration. By early 2022, Canadian housing prices reached their national peak. Then the psychology began to change. ❄️ 2022–2026 | Denial and the Search for Normal Prices declined, particularly in Ontario and British Columbia. Yet expectations of renewed appreciation persisted. Interest-rate cuts, immigration, housing shortages, and government intervention were repeatedly offered as reasons the previous boom would resume. This is precisely what makes financial bubbles so fascinating. Prices can change long before deeply held beliefs do. The original bubble psychology model describes a progression from denial to a temporary recovery, followed potentially by fear, capitulation, and despair. Our chart places Canada in this transitional period. But the most consequential part of the theoretical trajectory may still lie ahead. What history teaches us Irving Fisher explained how falling asset prices can weaken collateral, increase the real burden of debt, and produce self-reinforcing credit contractions. Hyman Minsky showed how prolonged stability can encourage increasingly fragile financing arrangements. And Schumpeter demonstrated how economic restructuring can destroy accumulated financial claims while opening opportunities for new productive investment. Within Kondratieff's LongWave framework, these mechanisms may help explain the transition from an increasingly financialized Economic Autumn into a debt-deflationary Economic Winter. The theoretical sequence is straightforward: Credit expansion → Asset inflation → Speculation → Peak valuations → Denial → Credit contraction → Forced liquidation → Capitulation → Recovery. Not every bubble follows this sequence precisely. Governments, banks, demographics, income growth, and credit conditions can alter its course. Nor does the chart establish that Canadian housing must decline to a particular price level or that a nationwide banking crisis is inevitable. Nevertheless, history offers an uncomfortable lesson: The greatest financial damage frequently occurs after the speculative price peak, when declining collateral values collide with debts accumulated during the boom. Canada's housing market peaked nationally in 2022. The question today is not simply how far prices have already fallen. It is whether Canada's extraordinarily leveraged housing and credit system can withstand a prolonged period of declining valuations without triggering a much broader deleveraging cycle. The price peak may be behind us. The full economic consequences may not be. And therein lies the central lesson of financial history: Human beings repeatedly convince themselves that the prosperity created by expanding credit is permanent, only to discover that debt survives long after the valuations supporting it disappear. Chart note: The historical phase boundaries are interpretive, and the post-2026 trajectory is a hypothetical scenario illustrating bubble psychology not a measured statistical forecast or a verified path back to historical fair value.

An important message from HRH Reza Pahlavi:
Yesterday's horrific attack on the King Khalid airport in Riyadh is the latest proof that the regime in Tehran will never seek peace. Since 1979, whether directly or through its proxies, it has waged war on the Kingdom and sought instability. I express my condolences to King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia at the lives lost in this terrorist attack. The Houthis and their campaign of chaos will end when Iran is free and the friendly relations between our two countries are restored.

NEW: Footage is going viral on Iranian social media of the pro-Shah @PahlaviReza youth of Ekbatan, Tehran, raising Iran’s Lion and Sun flag. Ekbatan was one of Tehran’s key neighborhoods in the January Uprising. The Islamist regime fears the Ekbatani; that’s why it jailed Ekbatani protesters and sentenced them to death. #JavidShah

To the people of Israel: I stand with you in grief, remembrance and solidarity on the third anniversary of October 7. We will never forget those murdered or the suffering of their families and the survivors. The Islamic Republic that armed and supported Hamas is the same regime that keeps Iranians in chains. When Iran is free, we will hold all those involved in these crimes accountable. Both our peoples deserve freedom and security. The bond between Iranians and Jews stretches back 2,500 years to Cyrus the Great. A free Iran will be a friend and partner to Israel. Lasting peace and stability for both our peoples will only come with the fall of the Islamic Republic.

Arm these brave Iranian people!  If we won’t, allow the Israelis to do it! If our CIA is risk averse, I’m sure the Mossad can do it.
Iran's Intelligence Ministry said on Saturday that 31 people had been arrested in Kerman province over alleged involvement in four organized networks it said were preparing to take part in nationwide protest calls and street unrest. The ministry said the groups, based in Sirjan, had been organized under names intended to appeal to teenagers and young people and had drawn up plans for participation in future nationwide calls for protests. It also accused members of making Molotov cocktails and tools for damaging surveillance cameras, and of involvement in protests during the nationwide protests in January. iranintl.com/en/202610037870

Dear Americans, We are so appreciative of everything you've done to help us free Iran. But please stop saying that "Iran" is the enemy. Iran is occupied by the Islamic Regime. The Islamic Regime and their Jihad ideology is your enemy. Sincerely, an Iranian. My interview on Newsmax: September 30, 2026

"I could not have given him an easier layup." University of Michigan student Iman Dashti joins @WillCainShow after confronting Abdul El-Sayed with a direct question: "I wanted to ask if you stand unequivocally against the IRGC?" But El-Sayed dodged answering his question. Dashti says he wanted a clear condemnation, telling Will Cain: "Just say you're against the world's largest sponsor of terror." "I think it has something to do with the fact that a lot of his supporters are very supportive of the IRGC. They love the Iranian regime and he doesn't want to alienate them." "He has an extreme base that just agrees with these horrible, horrible ideas that the majority of Americans don't believe in." @willcain
"Do you stand with us?" A young Iranian-American student tells Abdul El-Sayed his family was tormented at the hands of the Iranian regime. He says his cousin was hunted by the IRGC and his uncle was sentenced to death and lashed, then asks him directly: Do you stand "unequivocally against the IRGC"? El-Sayed does not directly condemn the IRGC by name. Instead, the Michigan Democratic Senate candidate warns against U.S.-led regime change and argues that anger toward foreign governments can be used to advance "corporate interests" tied to natural resources. He later goes further, saying regime change can become "a ploy for the interests of our corporations." "You still haven't said it, though," the student responds. "We're dying." See the tense exchange and what happens when the student presses him again: foxnews.com/politics/michiga…
