Brandon Gill has donated more of his campaign money to frontline Freedom Caucus Member than any other member.
He’s given over $500k to other Republicans including Freedom Caucus members. He’s a major asset to the GOP and the Freedom Caucus.
SCOOP: Some House Freedom Caucus members have privately discussed kicking Rep. Brandon Gill out of the group
"He's not really in the Freedom Caucus. He's just using it for conservative bonafides," one HFC member told @axios
Gill's bid to chair Oversight is fueling resentment beyond HFC, with Republicans questioning whether viral hearing moments qualify him to lead the committee
But Gill also has powerful defenders, including Whip Tom Emmer, who called him "the future of our party."

This is the definition of chutzpah.
I really try to stay out of these GOP intramural fights, but the biggest reason that the GOP is struggling electorally at the moment is not because they are pandering to "podcastistan" but because we are engaged in an extraordinarily unpopular war that Ben and his friends championed (I'm not making a judgement of the correctness or incorrectness of that war--just of its popularity-- and the massive unpopularity of the downstream effects of that war, especially higher gas prices-- particularly with swing voters.)
THAT is what the numbers say, in about 100 different ways.
Rather than be really f***ing quiet, as anyone with any sense would do in this situation, Ben thinks it's smart to double down and deflect blame to the most important person in Trump's circle that opposed this war, precisely because Ben doesn't trust Vance's views on another country in the Middle East that occupies an unhealthy amount of Ben's attention.
Ben is too smart to go full Mark Levin, but if he doesn't understand that this sort of rhetoric and blame deflection is totally counterproductive in maintaining our coalition, he is going to eventually find that out the hard way.

Half the town is trying to smear every GOP hill staffer as a groyper and the other half is trying to put them in jail.
The kids, though? They're doing just fine.

Ten years ago, MAGA had no one in Washington D.C. except President Trump. Today, there are thousands. Ten years from now there will be thousands more. Will you be one of them?

Laura, you should be transparent with your followers, and you are dead wrong about Stanley. He is a patriot who is fighting for POTUS and the American people every day. Decisions in cases like Camp Lejeune are made by me, ODAG, Stanley’s team, the civil division and the trial team, consulting with and keeping the White House counsel’s office and DOW updated along the way. We love our veterans and we want to get these cases right. Find a different obsession other than going after one of DOJ’s best fighters.
President Trump will be in North Carolina for a rally tomorrow, and this needs to be put on his radar immediately.
Earlier this year, federal judges gave the DOJ a hard deadline: reach a settlement with Camp LeJeune victims by October 30th or this goes to trial.
That deadline is now just days away, with a trial set to begin on October 26, and instead of sending serious settlement offers to Camp LeJeune victims, Associate Attorney General Stanley @ASAGWoodward, a lifelong Democrat at the DOJ, has been sending these veterans insulting lowball offers designed to insult and belittle their suffering.
This is a political disaster waiting to happen. Let’s be clear: Democrats are 100% going to weaponize this against President Trump and try to hurt him with veterans heading into the midterms in two weeks.
The Democrats will say that it was HIS DOJ that screwed over sick US Marines and their families, and Stanley Woodward is handing the Democrats that ammunition on a silver platter.
@AGToddBlanche you really need to step in NOW to stop Woodward from undermining President Trump by further insulting the men and women who served our country.
It’s time to make things right. This is a PR disaster that could have been avoided, but sadly, Democrat Stanley Woodward is only making matters worse for both the administration and veterans. He has got to be one of the WORST hires of the second Trump administration. But, I tried to warn people.
Sadly, it will be too late when people finally realize what a mess they have created by putting him in that position.

Being the White House Press Secretary is the pinnacle of the career for someone in PR - it's akin to an attorney becoming a Supreme Court Justice.
Here are my thoughts as to the bare minimum of what the next press secretary needs to have and understand (in no particular order):
1) You can't just talk to and be friends with friendly media. You need to go out of your way to build and maintain sincere relationships across the political spectrum. This is often unseen, under-appreciated, but wildly important. Similarly, you need friends throughout the government, politics, and media, when something pops up totally foreign to you, you need people that can get you up to speed quick.
2) Anticipating needs, news stories, issues, and crisis is a fundamental part of your job. You can't become a psychic, but try to get close. You must understand when to parry and riposte. You need to make this incredibly difficult and complex job look easy and effortless.
3) Your client (the President/US Govt/American People) is ALWAYS the priority. There is no I/me.
4) You can't control the news cycle. Porsche didn't expect Tesla to announce a flying car yesterday, and welp. Long nights and tough questions are to be expected. Try your best to influence it, take control of it, and then navigate it to where you want to go. If it doesn't help your client, pivot as quickly as possible to what does. Embrace the suck.
5) We are weeks away from the mid-term election. Ballots are out. Instilling confidence in a Republican government is a priority, selling why we deserve two more years is a fundamental expectation.
6) This job isn't just about talking points. It's being charismatic, witty, confident yet humble, convincing and compelling without be slimy, speak to non-Republicans from a place of credibility and understanding. What you don't have in skill can be made up for with relationships, skill can't cover for a lack of relationships. You really need to have a lot of both. You are going to be talking to the American people on their best days and their worst days, about their aspirations and deepest fears, empathy for both needs to be demonstrated.
7) You must understand how the newsrooms and news cycles operate. While you don't need to have been a journalist, you must have an appreciation of their job and life.
8) A deep understanding of American pop culture is important. It's a core competency expected and tested of foreign service officers as they represent it to the world. You represent it to the American people and the world. Also, you're going to be meme'd - you gotta be able to laugh at it.
9) You're going to have two dozen different jobs such as sociologist, psychologist, stylist, strategist, journalist, policy expert, diplomat, secret keeper, problem solver, crisis manager, arbitrator, etc. you're expected to be, and need to be, an expert at all of them.
10) You need to be prepared to be the stick in the mud -- often. Being able to tell people senior to you and your peers NO, is crucial. Otherwise bad things will happen and "told you so" is meaningless.
11. The next person needs to be a veteran practitioner of this craft with the above 10 as a bare minimum.

Slotkin is the latest in a long line of Leftists to attempt to scare her political opponents out of the arena.
Anyone who has been 'cancelled' before knows that words like this only make us want to work harder and win more.
This Trump term has already revealed fault lines in the party, but Slotkin's comments force a point: If you're too scared, you're going to lose. You were always going to lose.
President Trump was shot on live television. Charlie Kirk was murdered in broad daylight barely more than a year ago.
Either you believe that America is a nation worth saving, worth defending, and worth rebuilding, or you're too blinded by false comfort and too scared of mean tweets to be any help.
If you're ready to join in the fight, we want to help you.
Our response to @ElissaSlotkin's threat to conservative staffers:
“We are going to help them get jobs, we are going to put them to work, and if anyone comes after them—they’ll have a fight on their hands.”
To no surprise, James Lindsay has taken the side of @ElissaSlotkin after she called to prosecute essentially everyone who has worked for and alongside MAGA!

The Senator from Michigan, who is in President Obama’s party, has advocated an official policy of prosecuting Republican staffers in order to deter anyone from working for the Republican administration.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
