I'm thinking overall it's a budget aimed at building up some more momentum before taking on completing the harder stuff where there are situations likely to change in the meantime anyway ~ sensible. #politicsLive #wato #budget2026

#Budget2026 #PoliticsLive The Badenoch comedy act with her two stooges pulling faces behind. Pity she gets all her ammunition from the destruction, SHE and her conservative government left behind after 14 years in power!

Gareth Davies Tory on #PoliticsLive sums up their approach. Laments that his kids will pay national debt. His solution is to push millions of other kids, not his obviously, into poverty. Typical nasty party. #Newsnight #C4News #BBCNews

Kemi Badenoch claims ยฃ39 400 per year for her personal expenses.
Suella Braverman ยฃ45,000 for water bills alone.
Esther McVey, where do we start.
It's MPs expenses that need to be curtailed. It's absolutely obscene what some of them are claiming.

@Conservatives hollowed out the military, so it's a bit rich for #kemiBadenoch to have a go at @ukLabour for increasing expenditure.
Where did all this debt come from?
14 years of Tory misrule.

France, Germany and Italy currently have Freedom of Movement within the EU but amazingly 500 million people are not all trying to move to Paris, Berlin or Rome...
Don't believe the lies, Freedom of Movement would be a benefit to the UK.

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers.
โCorporations will create jobs if they get tax breaksโ is a total scam.

Madeley pushing the "welfare spending is out of control" narrative again this morning.
As a % of GDP, welfare spending is lower than it was 10 years ago.
Facts don't matter any more. They've been replaced by opinions. Often ill-informed opinions from prats like Madeley.

This is embarassing. It's quite clear Raheem Kassam has something on Nigel Farage. It's the only explanation for his failure to disavow his comments.

I'm watching, in real time, the likes of Nigel Farage and Liz Truss, being allowed to embarrass themselves in front of TV cameras as they crumble under the most basic of questioning.
It's great! (Not for them).

Royal Mail should be back in public hands.
After years of missed delivery targets, Royal Mail has proven it canโt be run effectively by the private sector.
Thatโs why Iโve called on the Government to renationalise it.
If we fail to act, we risk losing Royal Mail for good.

Robert, John Smith published a shadow Budget in 1992. Opposition parties have been producing detailed economic programmes for decades.
Your supposedly unprecedented rescue plan is 36 pages long, uses in-house costings, describes its fiscal projections as โindicativeโ and explicitly declines to commit to future fiscal rules.
Youโre proposing ยฃ20 billion in welfare cuts and asking the public to trust your arithmetic.
Whereโs the independent verification?
Calling something the most comprehensive plan in history doesnโt make it so.
Thatโs political marketing, Robert. Not economic credibility.
