The current debate surrounding Emmitt Smith and whether he was REALLY as great as his numbers suggest is absolutely RIDICULOUS! At some point, we have to acknowledge that too much of this conversation is about popularity, cultural acceptance, and FLASH over actual football greatness. Emmitt wasn't the flashiest running back. He wasn't the guy everybody wanted to imitate growing up, especially playing for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. But here's what bothers me: Too many fans, including some within our own Black community, seem to value style, excitement, and highlight-reel plays more than consistency, toughness, and production. Now we're DISRESPECTING the NFL's ALL-TIME LEADING RUSHER simply because he played behind a great offensive line?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Having a great offensive line doesn't erase the vision, patience, durability, discipline, and consistency it takes to become the NFL's all-time leading rusher. GREATNESS DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE FLASHY! Emmitt Smith EARNED his place in NFL history. You don't have to believe he's the greatest running back ever, but STOP acting like his accomplishments were handed to him!

January 2, 1994 ~ "THE EMMITT SMITH GAME" ~ At stake? The NFC East Crown and the #1 Seed The result? One of #NFL history's guttiest individual performances Emmitt Smith severely separates his shoulder — but fights through the pain — tallying 42 touches for 229 total yards and a score as the #DallasCowboys clinch the division and the NFC's top seed in a 16-13 overtime victory over the #Giants at the Meadowlands (Broadcast/radio/film merge: Harry Kalas and Ed Harris narrate for NFL Films; Pat Summerall and John Madden call it for CBS Sports; Brad Sham on the #Cowboys Radio Network call)

Ohhh, Emmitt Smith was ONLY good because of that offensive line? Man, STOP IT! I DESPISE the narrative that Barry Sanders had NO HELP in Detroit while people diminish everything Emmitt Smith accomplished! Let’s talk FACTS! Barry Sanders’ 1991 Detroit Lions Offensive Line: LT: Lomas Brown | 1st Round, No. 6 LG: Eric Andolsek | 5th Round, No. 111 C: Kevin Glover | 2nd Round, No. 34 RG: Mike Utley | 3rd Round, No. 59 RT: Eric Sanders | 5th Round, No. 136 Now let’s look at Emmitt Smith’s 1992 Dallas Cowboys Championship Offensive Line: LT: Mark Tuinei | Undrafted LG: Nate Newton | Undrafted C: Mark Stepnoski | 3rd Round RG: John Gesek | 10th Round RT: Erik Williams | 3rd Round ZERO FIRST ROUND PICKS! Dallas DEVELOPED those players into champions! And let’s not pretend Detroit didn’t have TALENT! The 1991 Lions went 12–4 and had SIX Pro Bowlers: Barry Sanders Lomas Brown Jerry Ball Chris Spielman Bennie Blades Mel Gray They also had Herman Moore, Brett Perriman, Willie Green and other talented players on that roster! That Detroit team BEAT Dallas 38–6 in the playoffs! I still hate them til this day BTW.. So why do people act like Barry Sanders was out there playing football all by himself? Barry Sanders was phenomenal. One of the greatest running backs to ever play this game. RESPECT! But stop rewriting history to diminish Emmitt Smith! 18,355 Career Rushing Yards 164 Career Rushing Touchdowns 3× Super Bowl Champion Super Bowl MVP NFL MVP NFL All Time Leading Rusher Just because Emmitt had great teammates doesn’t mean he wasn’t GREAT himself! And just because Barry retired early doesn’t mean we get to award him accomplishments he never achieved! EMMITT SMITH IS THE GREATEST RUNNING BACK OF ALL TIME! EMMITT > BARRY!

THIS WAS AN ALL-TIME NFL DRAFT MISTAKE: The Philadelphia #Eagles selected DT Jordan Davis with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 #NFL Draft, passing on S Kyle Hamilton, who went ONE PICK LATER to the Baltimore #Ravens. Hamilton has developed into one of the BEST defensive players in the entire league and is already building a Hall of Fame résumé. He’s a 2x First-Team All-Pro, a 3x Pro Bowler, and one of the most versatile defenders in football. Hamilton can cover elite receivers and tight ends, rush the quarterback, stop the run, and make game-changing plays all over the field. Davis has been a valuable piece of Philadelphia’s defensive line, but Hamilton has become a legitimate SUPERSTAR. Imagine Kyle Hamilton playing alongside the Eagles’ defense. Philadelphia had him RIGHT THERE. 🤯🤯🤯

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was at the practice facility today, per sources. He sat in on both the team meeting and other meetings. He did not address the team but his presence did provide a morale boost for some. Some players haven’t seen Hurts since he was placed on IR.
