As many of you know, for some time I was a paid tipster, covering European football. I gave that up a number of years ago but this year I have rediscovered my enjoyment of publishing write ups again. I have also been writing about my other great love, horse racing. The results for both football and horse racing for this YTD are below. From next week, my football write ups are only going to be available through Patreon for a monthly fee of £25 + VAT (link in bio and here)
patreon.com/Brodders?utm_med…
Between now and May, that should work out to be roughly £1.17 per write up and roughly 54p per bet (based around average numbers of both) which I think and hope is good value (see what to expect article below)

I will continue to publish my horse racing thoughts on Twitter along with anything else that I think may be of interest. I appreciate that this won’t be welcomed by some people but given the amount of time that I find myself devoting to it now, I hope is understandable to most of you. It will also mean that the prices are likely to be more attainable for subscribers as compared to the current situation.
Not new but still the most perfect summation of the orangutang squatting in the White House
“Why do some British people dislike Donald Trump?”
Nate White, an eloquent and witty English writer, gave this magnificent answer:
Trump lacks certain qualities that the British traditionally value.
He has no nobility, no charm, no composure, no gravitas, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour, and no grace — qualities with which, strangely enough, his predecessor, Mr Obama, was abundantly blessed.
Although Trump may be ridiculous, he has never said anything ironic, amusing, or even remotely funny — not once, ever. I do not mean this rhetorically. I mean it literally: never. To the British, a lack of humour is almost inhuman.
But with Trump, it is a fact. He does not even seem to understand what a joke is. To him, a joke is a crude remark, an illiterate insult, an act of casual cruelty.
Trump is like a troll: he never laughs or enjoys himself; he merely squeals with delight or derision.
And the most frightening thing is that he does not merely utter crude and stupid insults: he actually means them. His mind is nothing more than a robotic algorithm of petty prejudices and instinctive malice.
There is no irony in him, no complexity, no subtlety, no depth. Everything is superficial. What we see is a man without an inner world, without a soul.
In Britain, we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are courageous underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.
Trump is neither courageous nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite.
He is not even merely a spoiled rich boy or a greedy fat cat. He is more like a giant white slug, a privileged Jabba the Hutt.
And, worse still, he is a bully.
When he finds himself among other bullies, he suddenly becomes a whining lackey.
He punches down — something a gentleman should never, could never, and must never do — and every blow he delivers is below the belt. He particularly enjoys attacking the vulnerable or the voiceless, and he kicks them when they are down.
That is why the fact that a substantial minority — perhaps a third — of Americans watch what he does, listen to what he says, and then think, “Yes, he seems like my kind of guy,” is a source of bewilderment and profound distress to the British.
After all, it is impossible to read a single tweet of his or hear him utter a sentence or two without staring into the abyss. He turns shallowness into an art form. He is the Picasso of pettiness, the Shakespeare of shit. His flaws are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on to infinity.
There have always been stupid people in the world, and villains have never been in short supply either. But rarely has stupidity been so evil, or evil so stupid.
He makes Nixon seem trustworthy and George W. Bush seem intelligent.
If Frankenstein had decided to create a monster composed entirely of human flaws, he would have created Trump, and the remorseful Dr Frankenstein would have cried out in despair, “My God, what have I created?”
If an idiot were a television show, Trump would be the entire set.
A quick recap of another profitable night.

This is an outstanding answer. 99% of coaches would say, "I'm not going to comment on that." "We need more information."
Saleh used it as a lesson about checking in on someone's mental health.
Wow. Much respect to #Titans HC Robert Saleh for explaining the DT Jordan Elliott gun situation.
“My message to 31 other teams: If you need a hell of a run-stopping D-tackle that can help on a playoff run, give me a call. I'll tell you everything you need to know about him. He’s a good man. Had a terrible lapse in judgment. I recognize it as a call for help. Not a criminal act.”

Unlucky not to get 3rd but is going to come on a ton for that. Jumping got better as went around and travelled really nicely before getting tired late on. One to keep an eye on
In amongst all the football, I've had a bet in the 1.57pm Fontwell - Eastern Rock 1 unit ew @ 9/1 (1/5 1-3) BOG
This horse easily won its point to point last October and moved to Emma Lavelle but wasn't seen until March when running in a 2m NHF race on Good to Soft at Exeter. That day he's run far too keenly but still ran a cracking race, coming to challenge in the final furlong before weakening. The horse that won the race is highly thought of by Nicholls/Cobden and Eastern Rock pulled 10 lengths clear of the third so it looks a smart performance.
The step up in trip for his hurdling debut should be perfect and he could be a smart novice. Just looks too big a price all be it, fitness and ability to jump are having to be taken on trust.
Confirmed. Damn

This seems to have stirred up a bit of a hornet's nest. If it helps -
"In UK betting markets, a shot on target is defined as any deliberate attempt to score that would enter the net if it were not stopped by a save or a last-line defensive block"
Any "DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO SCORE."
A ball that happens to rebound off you, isn't a deliberate attempt.
A cross that is clearly a cross isn't a DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO SCORE.
Happy to help
Bookies are their own worst enemies sometimes - offering subjective markets is only ever going to lead to disputes. That goes double when pocket talk makes people argue that something that's clearly a cross, is in fact, a shot.

Looks like 2 units ew on Altareq for the Cambridgeshire at an average price of 59.00 - who knew? 🤷♂️

My record is a public one. I’m accused of lying, being a grifter or worse. Every single bet is recorded and every single bet is on my Twitter profile. If my accuser can point to a single selection which has been missed or settled incorrectly, please do let me know. You claim to have recorded all of my horse racing bets since August. Screen prints below of all of them which show a profit over the last 3 months. If you are keeping records, feel free to show where any of my figures are wrong. You deliberately cut off my figures per month but they are below too. You’re the worst kind of internet troll who will throw accusations around without basis and deflect when confronted. What makes it worse is that every single bet is in public record. This will be the last time that I make any comment on you and I’m very happy for @SBCinfo or any other independent auditor to check my figures. October to day is first and I will reply below with the other screenshots of September and August.
