We applaud Pope Leo XIV for taking an active role in his health after doctors discovered a lung nodule during a routine checkup.
By following his doctorsā recommendations and choosing to have the nodule removed, he reminds us of the importance of regular checkups, asking questions, and taking action when something needs further evaluation.
We encourage everyone to advocate for their health and have open conversations with their healthcare team. Your health matters, and your voice matters.

At LiveLung, weāre sending our love and support to Pope Leo XIV as he navigates his lung cancer/health journey. š¤
We wish him a smooth recovery following his surgery and hope he feels surrounded by care and support during this time.
We also applaud Pope Leo for taking initiative when it comes to his health. Advocating for yourself, asking questions, and following up on concerns are important steps in taking care of your health.
His experience is also a reminder that lung cancer and other lung conditions can affect anyone, regardless of their background or smoking history. Everyone deserves compassion, access to care, and the opportunity to advocate for their own health without judgment.
From all of us at LiveLung, weāre wishing Pope Leo XIV healing, strength, and any support we can offer.

Anyone can get lung cancer. Everyone deserves compassion. š¤
It has been confirmed that Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer after undergoing surgery to remove a nodule from his right lung. His diagnosis is an important reminder that lung cancer does not discriminate.
Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer, regardless of their age, smoking history, background, or lifestyle. No one deserves this diagnosis, and no one should have to face it while also dealing with judgment, blame, or stigma.
Every person impacted by lung cancer deserves compassion, support, and access to care. A diagnosis should never be an invitation to judge someoneās past or question whether they deserve help.
Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. No one deserves lung cancer. Everyone deserves compassion.

Research is helping change what a lung cancer diagnosis means.
Every breakthrough brings us closer to better treatments, earlier detection, improved quality of life, and more hope for people living with lung cancer.
Lung cancer research helps scientists and doctors better understand the disease, develop personalized treatment options, and discover new ways to support patients and their families.
But research doesnāt happen without support.
By participating in clinical trials, sharing your story, advocating for increased research funding, and staying informed, you can help move lung cancer research forward.
Progress matters. Hope matters. Research matters.
