There’s so much unhealthy comparison in the BBN community and I want to remind everyone who has been on that journey like me that comparison is truly the thief of joy.
I also hope BBN fans understand that not every opportunity has to look the same for everyone. Not every brand relationship has to result in the same outcome. Sometimes, the real value of an opportunity is what you can turn it into.
When Extract Skincare approached me after my season last year, I made a different proposition. Instead of collecting my campaign fee , I asked if I could receive the equivalent value in products at wholesale prices for my store.
That decision turned out to be one of the smartest business decisions I made from that opportunity.
Over the past year, I've sold:
• 1,500+ Extract soaps
• 25+ toners
• 108+ big body lotions
• 10+ small body lotions
• 60+ scrubs.
The bigger conversation here is about opportunities, perspective and what we choose to do with them.
Today, I have a business that has benefited from that single collaboration long after the campaign ended.
I hope we learn to stop measuring our progress exclusively by what someone else is receiving.
Your opportunity doesn't become less valuable because someone else got a different one.
