I’ve had 100s of engineers and new college grads ask me how to get a job at Apple. I tell them to go ship an app in the App Store and then I’d promise to at least hop on a call with them. Only 2 ever got back to me with a shipped app. Most people won’t put in the work. Go put in the work.

Until you've walked a mile in their shoes, it can be hard to appreciate why the teams at Apple are so conservative with the API surface they expose. But look at the navigation bar in iOS 17. Now look at it on iPhone Duo on iOS 27. It was a massive multi-year effort that required rewriting nearly all of UINavigationBar and UINavigationController. Do I wish SwiftUI was open source? Yes. But the folks on the UI framework team have good reason for operating the way they do.

I bought a Fable dataset from one of the top Chinese LLM routers yesterday. With just 6TB data, I can take over 7 Chinese/CIS gov entities & 19 top Chinese firms like Xiaomi, Huawei, NIO, Minimax using SSH keys, VPN configs, Aliyun keys, GitLab tokens sent to the router.

Dentist did a 3D X-ray of my jaw before a root canal and said I wouldn't be able to open the raw data, it needs specialized software. It's 800 DICOM files. Asked Claude Code to make me a viewer. Two prompts later... this is nicer than what he showed me on his screen.
