Grateful for getting employment in this country. Grateful for not giving up and super grateful for everyone who helped me along the way.
I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that I can afford to treat my loved ones, I have my own place here and property back home. I have winter and summer clothes, I have inside shoes and outside shoes, I have a fruit bowl in the living room. I have an investment portfolio and have built so many healthy habits.
2016/17 I was on a downward spiral. Everything I was touching was breaking. For so long I believed I was cursed. I’ve written about many of my messed up experiences. But above all that, I’m truly grateful to have lived long enough to see this version of me. 🤲🏾🍲

Homba Mazaleni has officially been announced as the winner of the Top Billing Presenter Search 2026, proudly brought to you by Lucky Fish.
With roots in Gonubie, East London, and rural Dutywa, her Homba made name for herself as a sports content creator before auditioning for Top Billing.
She holds a degree in Human Movement Science from Nelson Mandela University and pursued postgraduate studies in Sport Science and Biokinetics.
Top Billing airs every Thursday at 19:00 on S3, with repeats on Sundays at 13:00 on S3 and Tuesdays at 21:30 on SABC1. The show is also available on SABC+.

You have just described my experience across 3 different schools - they identified as Christian schools, one a Convent (so Catholic) and the other multi denominational. Jewish kids stayed away during their sacred days, Muslims did the same. We had Holy Mass every first Friday, and the other kids didn't have to attend. Assembly was compulsory so Jewish and Muslim kids had to attend, not forced to pray but respectfully bowed heads when appropriate. My kids go to a very diverse school and again, accommodations are made - live and let live. It is not complicated. But hate complicates everything.
