At CS townhall, @aekdawi asks @DavidMalpassWBG, if stakeholder engagement is a priority for the @WorldBank why do country diagnostics not include analysis of #civicspace in countries where it works? Consultations becoming box ticking exercises due to inability to speak freely
.@DavidMalpassWBG response is that CSOs should be advocating for citizen engagement to be a part of country programs. But that is only possible in places where #civilsociety can safely exist & voice views! @WorldBank must identify & adapt engagement when #civicspace is restricted
