I keep deleting this app, but then secretly logging in on browser when I need it, so I decided for 2022 to put the good in it that I wish were, so I’ll be using this thread as my personal #gratitudejournal each day. 🧵

I had to reorder on @DoorDash_Help b/c it was wrong. I requested credit for addtl service / delivery charges ($8). Their solution was to remove the tip from the second driver. So, not that one customer lost matters - but 👋✌️
On March 14, 2017 it snowed. Know how I remember? My son was born. And today for the THIRD YEAR in a row, we might have to cancel his birthday party. @capitalweather please tell me the forecast is wrong? Can people still drive to our 4pm party in silver spring?

Just hopped to check weather re: snow but want to say… I will 100% buy this book & don’t want a free copy. I know that the $20-50 I pay for a book was multiple years of someone’s life and soul. I encourage my fellow #twitterstorians and #authors to do the same!
FREE BOOK GIVEAWAY!!!
To celebrate my promotion to full professor 2 days ago, I will give away a copy of A HOUSE BUILT BY SLAVES: AFRICAN AMERICAN VISITORS TO THE LINCOLN WHITE HOUSE on Feb. 12 (publication day).

Ok, gave in, stopped reading by the fire and joined the kids! Silver Spring hills are good sledding if you’re a toddler (too slow for adults) @capitalweather #dcwx #dcsnow
Trying to think about my presentation tomorrow and I have:
-sung the entire soundtrack to encanto
-had a conversation with the cardinal outside
-written a to do list for my office organisation
It is SO hard to focus lately.

I am looking for a book that I KNOW I own. I have checked ALL the bookshelves. Nothing. So I bought it again and this is why I have 2 copies of so many books. I need a book organisation system.
I am excited to offer a Women of LeDroit Park tour this fall with @atourofherown - combining my book, guiding and love of supporting this awesome company all into one. (But seriously, some badass women lived in LeDroit Park!)

As a teaser, my tedious reading of census records led to finding Eugenia DeLand - one of the few women artists to design a posters advertising war bonds during WWI. Sometimes history research is just leaving no name ungoogled. #twitterstorian #herstory
The VA GOP seems to think the Lincoln-Douglas debates were between Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. So there’s that happening.
