UK media mentioned Peter Mandelson 119 times in the weeks after the Epstein files were released. In 2023, a white Cambridge professor named William O'Reilly was found guilty of plagiarism, and only the Financial Times covered it. But the media hounded Jason Arday, publishing 249 articles in 22 days. We must put an end to morally bankrupt journalism: newscord.org/action/jason-ar…

even *after* he'd resigned from his job and lost every other professional engagement he had, pretty much meaning he'd never be employable again, the largest papers in the UK were paying to promote stories about minor gripes former students had. how is that public interest?
There is an attempt under way to slander and diminish legitimate public interest investigative journalism. It must not be allowed to succeed.

The media was going in like Jason Arday was the only person accused of something in the history of academia. I’ve never heard or seen a case get that much attention in the UK and overseas. 100% because of racism and elitism. Doing up sponsored ads for targeted hit pieces

If your “condolences” involve insulting a man who died mere hours ago as a “fantasist” and worse, they are not condolences at all. Every one of you doing so is a heartless, self-serving disgrace.

There are academics who assault, defraud, and do horrific harm. Yet, for weeks, people have been gleefully salivating over finding a new victim of anti-Blackness and the pile-on against EDI. This was not reasonable “scrutiny” and no amount of cover-up attempts will make it so.

How the fuck was this public interest? There is an attempt to defend a witch hunt of an autistic and troubled academic by scum journalists as “public interest investigative journalism” It must not be allowed to succeed.

A lot of folks saying this shouldn’t become political. But the disproportionate hounding of this man was racialised and caused his death. This is extremely political, I’m afraid.

As predicted, the media and politicians are pointing at Cambridge. Don’t let them shift the blame. Hold them ALL to account. Cambridge plus every rag and mouthpiece, who has used their platform to hound him for weeks, must be held to account. All of them. Bullies in suits.

Jason Ardey had a wife and two kids. Not only do these ghouls have his blood on their hands, his kids will live with unimaginable grief knowing their Dad’s death was wholly preventable. While the country literally burns, “journalists” chose to write about a professor hourly.

If we should be reviewing how anyone was hired, and their competency, it’s you. Twisting the knife mere hours after death. Parasite.
Jason Arday’s death is very sad. Some people at Cambridge and perhaps other universities should resign. The review into how Arday was hired should continue. And we should have a wider discussion about the impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies.

#NovaraMedia @novaramedia and Aaron Bastani joined in the Right Wing Media lynch mob that hounded Jason Arday… Bastani is no different to people like Jame O’Brien and his politics aren’t either. Loudmouthed, overbearing, cocky bullies…

"When people talk about the need for Black Excellence I counter with an insistence on Black mediocrity: the right for black people to be as average, flawed, compromised & mistaken as any other group of people. The right, ultimately, to be human." R.I.P. Jason Arday

A selection of articles published by The Spectator between August 01 and August 14 2026:
BREAKING: Jason Arday, the former University of Cambridge professor, has been found dead at an address in Battersea, according to reports. A spokesperson for the Metropolitcan Police said the 41-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious. “Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by officers," he said. “At this time his death is being treated as unexpected, but is not believed to be suspicious. "The case is being investigated by officers from the Met’s Central South Command Unit. A file will be prepared for the coroner.” More follows...

I’ve deleted the X app for related reasons but I’m here just to make it clear that every media piss-rag and despicable racist that hounded Jason to death will have his blood on their hands for the rest of their lives. And I will make sure you know it for the rest of mine.

As I’ve said so many times before, racism doesn’t just show up on the streets. These institutions are, and have always been, rooted in racism. It is big business for them and we must resist loudly, like lives depend on it. Because they do.

I’m hoping to organise a peaceful vigil (more to come) and I urge everyone to organise or join one by them. We must honour his memory and organise for accountability. Rest in power, Jason. All my thoughts and love with his family. 🤎
