Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Taisha is NOT some TikTok photo-op. This is a sacred place that has been worshipped for over 1,300 years.
Stop dancing in the middle of the path while completely ignoring the people stuck behind you who can’t get through. Anyone who desecrates a place of worship by turning it into nothing more than a “stage to go viral” will surely face the wrath of the foxes.
Would you dance around like this in front of the altar of a solemn church or mosque in another country?
Unless Japan finally starts imposing serious penalties for this kind of behavior, even respectful worshippers may end up paying the price, and Fushimi Inari could eventually be closed off completely.
