Briefly, I want to address the issue of who is to blame. Easy — the people behind the attack. Lasse, the maintainer of xz, was the target of a patient intelligence campaign that invested more resources into subverting him than anyone invested into his project.

📢 If you hate writing software, you may just be in the wrong role.
I’ve worked with a LOT of different companies and teams over 20+ years.
Typically I've been happy. But sometimes, I've been miserable. On one team, I thought “I hate coding”.
Turns out, I didn’t hate coding. I just hated coding on that team.
🚫 We constantly had unrealistic deadlines
🚫 We weren’t empowered or trusted
🚫 Tech debt was out of control
🚫 My team wasn’t respected
🚫 My boss was a liar
I found a new role and realized: Hey, software development with these folks is fun again! 😀
So, if you’re unhappy, look around. Greener pastures are out there.

I don't know whether anyone of my followers will ever have the "pleasure" to write code for an ATTiny12 Atmel microprocessor, but after I spent countless hours of debugging and reading 20 year old C code and datasheets, I decided to share my findings, just in case. 👇
