📝 Tucker Lightsout’s Journal 📝 Dad called last night, the two of us spoke for hours, first time that’s happened in what feels like years now. We spoke about a lot, he joked about me stealing his old coat, but we mainly talked about work. He thought I ought to be kinder to the LSPD, that I’ve been too hard on them. He’s not wrong, it’s just that… when I see those cruisers I see every missed birthday, when I see those badges I think of the nights wondering if I’d have to explain to Nini that Mom & Dad weren’t coming back. That’s on me though, and I’ve let it cloud my judgement for too long. If I’m honest with myself, it’s probably the biggest reason why I was fired from my job in Vice City, I can’t let it go. I’m ashamed to admit I yelled at the old man last night, embarrassed to admit we both cried, years of hard pent up feelings let loose like a tidal wave. This old gray coat feels like a hug when I wear it now, like armor from my own shitty decisions. I’m not about to jump into the police academy or anything, but I’m proud to wear the old man’s jacket after last night. For now, I should get to work, got a lot of bridges that need mending. Just hope my pride beats my anger this time, but we’ll find out. Nini, if you find this journal, forget you read all that.
