Stolen land does not become morally legitimate because settlers wrote laws protecting the theft.

I thought the positions he often took in the Times, where he punched down at people, far from being piratical, were in fact powerfully conformist. They weren’t anti establishment. They were the well written positions of what the type of establishment he’d joined - wanted to hear

RIP Rod Liddle of the Sunday Times, with all gravy down him. With all soup, or something, on his sleeve. With all suet or something on his collar. With sort of, Mackerel fish paste on his leg. Angel Delight powder in the folds of his neck. Jelly from a pork-pie congealed on him.

Couldn't agree more
Disgusted and sickened to read the fulsome tributes to odious racist, misogynist creep, Ron Liddle. Sorry for his family, however the horrendous harms he did to everyone who did not conform to his narrow-minded, cruel identity politics, cannot be ignored. Call that a ‘talent?’

Everyone who is or aspires to be called a journalist should read this. The moral stupidity of western media explained and exposed.
This has made sense of something I have been grappling with for a long time regarding the response to Gaza/Palestine in general, defined so clearly here as ‘moral stupidity’

Iran, now refusing to release its chokehold over the Strait of Hormuz and the global supply of oil, is demanding that the price of an agreement include an end to US backing for the Israeli-directed horror show in the Middle East. Like a spoiled toddler, Trump is thrashing around – while cashing in on the volatility of the oil markets – trying to impose the old rules, when the terms of the confrontation are no longer under his exclusive control. His latest tantrum – one cooked up in Tel Aviv as much as Washington – is that most Arab states, including Iran’s neighbours in the Gulf, be forced to sign the so-called Abraham Accords with Israel. This is being presented as the framework for a regional “peace deal” involving Iran. In truth, it is the very opposite. The accords are designed to cement Israel’s status as the Middle East’s top dog, subordinating Arab states’ interests to Israel’s, and thereby isolating Iran in the region and leaving the Palestinian people and Lebanon to a genocidal Israel’s mercy. This is another swindle, like Trump’s “Board of Peace”, which dresses up US and Israeli criminal aggression and genocide as peacemaking. What the past 20 years of lies and misdirections have sought to hide is a simple fact: it is not Tehran that is led by unhinged, genocidal megalomaniacs threatening the security of the region and the world. It is Tel Aviv and Washington. Since the pair launched their criminal war of aggression against Iran three months ago, Tehran has shown restraint, acted with caution, and displayed a willingness to negotiate in good faith. Too bad there are no responsible adults on the other side with whom it can make a deal. This is an extract from my latest article Israeli claims about an Iran 'threat' were always a lie. Now we have proof. Read the rest here: middleeasteye.net/opinion/is…

You’re up to your neck in what you describe as “the Middle East conflict” you utter fraud. It’s not a conflict, it’s a war being waged by the most powerful nations on the planet using the most advanced military and surveillance technology in the world. There were no HIMARS, fighter jets, air defences or weapons shipped to the people of Lebanon or Gaza. Instead you armed their oppressors to the hilt and are an active participant in their genocide while at home persecuting those that stand in solidarity with them. You are a weak, mediocre, pathetic man who should be dragged to The Hague and tried as a war criminal A vote for Labour is a vote for genocide.

Remember, Mandelson wasn’t brought down by journalism. He was collateral damage in a foreign political controversy. He was indulged by a compliant British media (and still touring the studios!) to the end. They never got round to doing their job.

If one source close to the PM says it's raining, and another says it's not, your job as a journalist is not to quote them both, it's to look out the window and question how you ended up as a professional regurgitator of WhatsApp briefings from the worst people in the world.
This is all getting surreal. Another source close to the PM disputes what my original source close to the PM says about Burnham being warned not to bother to apply to be a candidate in the by election. Just so you know (and yes it is faintly ridiculous)

Other journalists take note, your culpability and enabling of genocide will haunt you. When this ends your nightmare will begin. Blaming your sub editors, editors, producers etc. will not excuse your lies and failures.
I can’t in good conscience continue to work for Reuters given their betrayal of journalists in Gaza and culpability in the assassination of 245 our colleagues.

Rory Stewart is a swamp creature. He was a colonial governor in British-occupied Iraq and served 7 years in MI6. He was also chair of secret “CIA-funded” intel group Le Cercle Alastair Campbell, his-cost, is a war criminal who cooked intel to lie UK into attacking Iraq in 2003
Rory isn't mincing his words about Jeremy Corbyn... 👀

We are no longer waiting for international journalists to condemn Israeli practices against children, civilians, and their own peers. We condemn these journalists in their entirety. We condemn them for their journalistic malpractice, their ineptitude to fulfill their obligation to the world, and for engineering the narrative of victimhood for Israel. From correspondents to editors to producers, across Sky news to CNN, BBC, NYT and others. You’re an insult to journalism, and a stamp of disgrace for humanity. You have wielded so much power, and at every juncture chose to abuse it. And here we emphasize and remember, it was a choice, because real journalists- like those in Gaza,- did not acquiesce and chose to report the truth even as their body began to eat itself from hunger & the bombs rained on them.

My god I couldn’t care less how many Israeli scholars or genocide experts or academics now “sadly” admit Israel is committing genocide. Their opinion is not the benchmark. Palestinians told us from the start. Stop defaulting to the perpetrators for guidance.

Because he doesn't believe Palestinian lives are equal to Israeli lives. Because he's totally lost his humanity in his bubble where he sees peoples lives as bargaining chips. And because the man is devoid of all principles and compassion. Next question.
