Some families give all of their kids names starting with the same letter. Even better…everyone, husband wife and kids, has the same first syllable! Childebert, you ruined it 😠

There are actually lovely nooks at Slutcon where you can read poetry and classic literature
heavy sigh.. men would fare better reading poetry and classic literature women ask yourself: would you want the father of your potential children to have learned how to talk to women at ::check notes:: slutcon?

did you think “monogamy” meant monogamy
i'd estimate like ~20% of long-term marriages in public-facing duos have cheating happening rn, this is not really that surprising

What goes on at an NYC peptide party? Cyborgs, Slutclouds, sex peptides, microchips in people's hands. We sent @DenzelRust to find out... mamathemagazine.com/what-hap…

“Not to be presumptuous, but do you want to take these sex peptides?” it's not a bad line although on priors I doubt any aphrodisiac works equally for men & women

Talked to a guy about his job for a good while and the thing he seemed most excited about is that there's occasionally free food. Dude makes 300k+, he can afford food, why is it so much more exciting when it's free?

Personally free food is a negative. It's not going to be good or healthy, but human nature being what it is, I will eat it and then feel worse as a result. I'd rather have my tin of leftovers

See, you shouldn’t be saying this if you want me to support a foie gras ban
Replying to @ReichlinMelnick
That's actually a good thing. We want to ban all industrial farming.

You subtly ratchet down the sexiness of your clothes. Put away the low-cut red dress, today he gets the blue dress. Let’s hope he catches on before you have to break out the loose brown pantsuit and nude bras
I don’t know what a girl should do if her bf is taking too long to propose. You have to start dating other men I guess? Or ignoring him? Talking to him would be out of the question, for obvious reasons

just as slight optimism about your life prospects is better than strict realism, slight optimism about your level of virtue is better there must be something harmful about going through years or decades of life with a constant background belief that you are a Bad Person
Agreed, here. I also think the world would be better if we could at least admit to ourselves when we're doing something unethical, instead of pretending we're not or rationalizing ourselves out of it. People often don't admit it to themselves because they think 'if I were knowingly doing something unethical, I would either need to stop immediately, or it would make me a profoundly Bad Person. And I couldn't stop it immediately, and I don't want to be a Bad Person, so I am going to convince myself it's actually ethical.' But I think ideally, if you don't feel capable of stopping the unethical behavior for whatever incentive reasons, you should not pretend it isn't bad, but rather you should let it stick as a thorn in your side. You should rest uncomfortably in the truth that you are capable of performing antisocial behavior. Once it's irritating you, you can slowly, gently circle it on your own time to try to sort your own ethics out, and see if there's a sustainable way to change your behavior that feels better for you. But then at least you aren't hiding it from yourself, which makes it harder to hide it from others, and you aren't allowing it to rest without paying a cost to your psyche.

is it too early to wear fur to my all-foie-gras right-wing tasting menu date?

How can you not love Ebert's bad reviews? >>And Ken Russell has really done it this time. He has stripped the lid of respectability off the Ursuline convent in Louden, France. He has exposed Cardinal Richelieu as a political schemer. He has destroyed our illusions about Louis XIII. We are filled with righteous indignation a we bear witness to the violation of the helpless nuns; it is all the more terrible because, as Russell fearlessly reveals, all the nuns, without exception, were young and stacked.
Roger Ebert's zero stars review of The Devils rogerebert.com/reviews/the-d… Roger also gave zero stars to: Texas Chainsaw I Spit On Your Grave The Hitcher Police Academy Death Wish 2 Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me he gave 1 star to Blue Velvet & The Thing & half a star to Hellraiser

A: Why are you so obsessed with numbers. B: OK you hate numbers and like narratives. Right. There's a billionaire, see. He banks at Bank of Business. He likes it because he's evil. A: Right this sounds really credible to me. B: Will he bank with you instead.

Seriously AI therapy would be better if it wasn’t infinitely available 24/7

didn't we just invent the listening to you machine

Part of why therapy works to the extent it does is that you have a specific time in which to focus on the most important problems in your life. Because the time is limited and expensive, you're incentivized to concentrate and to the best of your ability avoid the distraction of small talk or trivia about what happened last week. If I have an AI therapist constantly in my pocket, when do I get beyond griping and into deep work?
