Vivaldi's “Winter,” visualized in a fascinating way, so that the auditory experience is even more intense; one can literally “see” the music, so to speak
Death rips the veil back. I learned that when I lost my buddy Billy.
Birth does the same thing, from the other direction.

Breath.
Presence.
Each other.
That's basically the whole list.

A car on the shoulder is nothing.
Most of us pass a hundred of them.
The whole shape of a life can hang on the one you don't.
"If not me, then who?" sounds like a question you ask yourself.
It wasn't.
There was no deliberation. A man was in the road. His wife was crowning.
My hands knew what to do before my mind had an opinion about it.

Three years ago I delivered a stranger's baby on the side of Boulder Canyon.
Zero training. Shorts. Flip-flops. On my way to work.
I still don't know their names. I don't know that kid.
There's a toddler out there somewhere because I was the car that turned around.
I mark it on the calendar every year. The morning still won't lie flat.
