All the PlayStation to PC "ports" are missing the real goal: a copy of PT that is playable for eternity.

Eddie Jordan gave Michael Schumacher his F1 debut.
Two weeks later, heโd lost him. Over one word.
August 1991. Jordan, a brand-new team, had just lost one of its drivers to a jail sentence. Eddie needed a replacement for the Belgian Grand Prix, fast.
He took a chance on a 22-year-old German sportscar driver. He later admitted he took him because he needed the money (Mercedes paid $150,000 for the seat).
Schumacher qualified 7th on his debut, at a track heโd never driven.
The whole paddock noticed.
Eddie thought he had him secured. Heโd agreed in principle with Mercedes, who backed Schumacher, to keep him for the rest of the season.
But no contract was signed.
The letter of intent said Schumacher would sign โa contractโ, not โthe contractโ. His manager later said that one-word difference is the only reason he didnโt have to stay.
Jordan went to court and lost. There was no contract to enforce.
The fight got so messy that F1 changed its rules. From 1992, every driver contract had to be officially registered.
By then, it was too late for Eddie. Schumacher had raced for Benetton in the next Grand Prix, and went on to win 91 races and 7 world titles.
All because of the difference between โaโ and โtheโ.

The device, seeing as they could not understand it:
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and weโre grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBIโs investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.
Bitkeeper just keeps trying to make a comeback, innit.
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control systemโand fully migrated our monorepo from gitโin five months: anthropic.com/engineering/reโฆ
Anthropic buys dodgy Android TV boxes, networks them together, splits a local model between them, tells the model to self replicate like a worm, is shocked when it self replicates like a worm (because it has been trained to know what a worm looks like). Not surprising.

โWe should aim to harden our systemsโฆ but also prepare to deal with a world where they are here to stay.โ
Another is to have these work on a local network only. Make them Matter/Apple Homekit/Home Assistant compatible, do not let them phone out to the Internet. This shifts the attack surface to your router, which is already under scrutiny and constant prodding.
Epic Games has internally delayed the release of a shooter game theyโve been developing featuring Star Wars & Marvel characters.

Introducing Microsoft-Decision-1, our new model for fast decision-making.
It delivers top performance on structured decision tasks, outperforming both LLMs and other decision models in latency and quality.
Weโre already testing it across Microsoft for everything from incident response and quality control to scientific discovery.
You're not even a signatory! You can literally ignore them forever if you want to. Sanctioning them is dumb AF, and you're only doing it because of pressure from Bibi.

If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, Iโm going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!

This $5,000 โTrump Dividendโ promise was first made in Sept. 2026. Similar prior DOGE and tariff check pledges have not been paid out. It would cost ~$1.2 trillion and require congressional approval.

BREAKING: President Trump says he will now give a $5,000 โTrump Dividendโ to every US citizen if Republicans win the midterms, rather than just US adults.
On September 9th, President Trump said that only US adults would qualify for the $5,000 payment.
There are ~316 million US citizens, meaning the payments would total ~$1.58 trillion.
That is +$350 billion more than the previous proposal.
