California has the most registered electric vehicles in the United States by a wide margin, holding over one-third to 35% of all EVs in the country with well over 1.25 million on the road. Florida and Texas trail far behind in second and third place.
Yet, no where in the new law have they made provisions for the tires on EV’s. EV ‘s are 1000-1600 pounds heavier than gas powered and tires wear out 20% faster. Pavement wear load caused by EV’s can be 25 times more than gas powered cars and trucks.
