Thrilled; the awesome Neil Murray enjoyed our community-choir version of his and Uncle George's iconic Warumpi Band song "Blackfella/Whitefella". What an honour. To watch: youtu.be/33oX4fqu-hQ?si=reO5… #NRW2024 #BlackfellaWhitefella #NowMoreThanEver #LouderThanEver
A photo of choir of about 60 people including children and a dog being led by music duo Mundy-Turner (Cath Mundy & Jay Turner) on the grassy, treed banks of the Dugulumba Balun (Logan River), seen flowing behind. There is a logo in the top left corner for the Uluru Statement and Mob23. In the top right is a logo for National Reconciliation Week saying "Now More Than Ever #NRW2024" In the middle is a quote from Neil Murray, Warumpi Band co-founder and co-writer of Blackfella/Whitefella.: "(The video) is tremendous. It give my heart a great lift. Especially post referendum.... People need to remember this simple message. It's what the elders instructed. It's an awesome, stirring performance... one of the best versions I've come across. Congratulations all. Just fantastic. Love it!"
