Back to the Future Day Today, where we’re going, we don’t need roads. The iconic, nay, epic Back to the Future series gave millions of people in 1985 a glimpse of what the future could be like. Sure, we didn’t invent time travel (or hoverboards for that matter, we’re still salty about that one) but we did get an interesting look at the future that has actually come to pass Back to the Future day is celebrated on October 21, because that is the date Marty McFly originally travels to the past & sets in motion his undoubtedly existential adventure

National Pets for Veterans Day It all started with a dog named Bear... Bear was quite the ham & knew how to interact differently based on the individual needs of the Veterans. He would lie quietly on the bed if needed or put his paws up to encourage others.

National Apple Day This is a day dedicated entirely to celebrating all things apple: apple pie, apple sauce, apple crisp… The list goes on and on. This holiday reminds us to appreciate the apple in its myriad forms.

Hagfish Day Hagfish might be the ugliest fish species, But it plays a vital role in the overall ecosystem & equilibrium within marine life. Hagfish bring with them a whole other level of slime and ick. With no jaw, no bones, & no scales, this fish species is not the easiest on the eyes. ➠To make matters worse, they have equally unsettling eating habits. Hagfish feast on dead or dying bodies of marine animals. They do so by sliding into the said body & eating it away from the inside, just leaving the skin behind. Grossed out or intrigued? Oh, they're eaten too as a delicacy. Would you try one?

American Frog Day There are several different dates this day could fall on depending on whom you speak with But they all agree today is about animal husbandry & conservation. This is a chance for scientists & hobbyist alike to share information about poison dart frogs & many other species too, plus other amphibians too.
