Building iOS and MacOS Apps (because why not 😉)
Looking to connect to other builders here
People building in public:
Are you scared that someone can clone your product easily in this AI era?

Nights and weekends this week:
Designed the onboarding
Forgot to check on iPhone duo
Opened it on a iPhone duo

One dev. One simulator. Every screen shape.
Oren is a reading and book tracker for iPhone/iPad/iPhone duo. Current book, goal and progress on one home screen.

SaaS is dead.
App building is dead.
Junior devs are dead.
SEO is dead.
Most apps, empty search:
"No results."
Oren, empty search:
A penguin hunting through a stack of books.
Small apps should feel alive. Even when there's nothing to show.

Just so you can do doesn't always mean you should do it. It's like asking Claude to create entire OS from scratch just so that you can tell it to, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the users will come automatically.
Creating actual usable product is still hard and it's till harder to crack the distribution. Sure, AI has closed the gap than it was previously, but it doesn't mean that the gap doesn't exist.
"Apps and SaaS are dead. People can just vibe code their own."
Sure
Bakeries are dead. People can bake at home
Restaurants are dead. People can cook at home
Gyms are dead. People can work out at home
Cinemas are dead. People have Netflix
Hotels are dead. People have Airbnb
Apparently, knowing how to do something yourself means nobody will pay someone else to do it
Nov 3: first sale. United States.

3 days since I launched MacFader.
Every edge of your Mac trackpad becomes a fader.
25 customers. $0 refunds.
Full-time mobile dev by day.
Nights and weekends, my friend @milanpsurelia and I build indie apps from home.
6 products so far:
→ Oren: a reading habit app
→ MacFader: trackpad edges become faders
→ Grovu: a plant journal
→ Platezy: a barbell plate calculator
→ Compose101: a starter kit for Android devs
→ Compose App of the Year: the best Jetpack Compose apps
No funding. No big team. Just two friends shipping things we wanted for ourselves.
I’ve been quiet here for too long. I’ll share what works and what flops.
What are you building on the side? Drop it below.

Meet MacFader 🎛️ Our new Mac App!
Every edge of your Mac's trackpad becomes a fader.
→ Right edge: volume
→ Left edge: brightness (external monitors too)
→ Top edge: keyboard backlight
→ Bottom edge: skip tracks
No more hunting for function keys.

We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.
That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.
Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.
We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:
· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.
Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.
Finally revamped my portfolio after a long time.
