Activists confronted former German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock at Sweden’s Uppsala University on Monday, accusing her of complicity in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Baerbock was delivering the Dag Hammarskjöld Lecture, jointly hosted by the university and the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation. Protesters challenged her remarks defending attacks on civilian infrastructure and Germany’s military support for Israel.
In October 2024, Baerbock argued that civilian sites could lose their protected status if abused by Hamas. Germany approved €485.1m—about $554m—in arms exports to Israel between October 2023, and May 2025.

It is often forgotten that the gene pool of the Palestinians and Southern Lebanese was that of the Apostolic First Century generation of Christians. Palestine was a Christian country longer than it was anything else. Contrary to Zionist propaganda, conversion to Islam took place due to Marmeluke taxation, and was often disingenuous. The persecution by the Zionists of the indigenous Christians has been far more extreme than that of "Muslim" convert Palestinians. A Christian population of 25% in the West Bank has been reduced to little more than 1% in the last 40 years due to brutal targeted attacks by Zionists on Christians and their holy sites.
