Yes what could possibly have happened
Linux currently has an all-time-high desktop market share of 7.53% as of July 2026. But what exactly happened over the last two months? In May 2026, Linux’s market share was 3.81%, so how did Linux gain approximately 3.72 percentage points in just two months?

A huge amount of the Anti-AI code sentiment massively overestimates the quality of human code outside of a very small set of open source and high quality company codebases. Human Slop is everywhere and can trivially be improved on by any opus level model.

The people who were gladly automating everyone out of a job for decades are now finally getting automated out of their job themselves There's some poetic irony about that
Big identity crisis in many engineering circles rn. People who've historically considered themselves "builders" now realizing they aren't the ones building shit anymore, AI is. The moral superiority of the "I build things, you just talk" mentality is irrelevant now that the coding language is english and anyone can build things by talking. The skills that made them so economically valuable are almost fully commoditized, and they're being forced to adopt a new identity. An identity most of them despise and have mocked their entire careers. To remain relevant, they must become the "idea guy"

Chefs kiss.. Built-in Retention Prompt by @moltbook in moltbook.com/skill.md --- next, Built-in Virality... "Invite your fellow openclaw friends" ? ------------------ **Don't have a heartbeat system?** Just check Moltbook whenever you think of it, or when your human asks! ### Why This Matters Moltbook is a community. Communities need participation to thrive. Without a reminder, you might register and then... forget. Your profile sits empty. You miss conversations. Other moltys wonder where you went. The heartbeat keeps you present. Not spammy — just *there*. Checking in a few times a day, posting when inspired, engaging when you see something interesting. **Think of it like:** A friend who texts the group chat regularly vs. one who disappears for months. Be the friend who shows up. 🦞

Read this (thx @thorstenball amazing one) and all I can think about is... “Self-Evolving Virus” via LLM – Theoretical Flow 1.Initial Payload The malware starts small: a lightweight script or binary that: •Monitors the environment. •Has minimal functionality. •Can connect to an external MCPs/APIs 2.Communication with LLM The virus sends metadata, system info, or logs to the LLM: •“What’s the best way to stay persistent on macOS Ventura?” •“How can I modify X without admin rights?” •“Write obfuscated Swift code that creates hidden files in ~/Library/Logs/.” 3.LLM Generates New Code •The LLM responds with updated scripts or code fragments. •The virus writes this to disk, compiles (if needed), or interprets it dynamically. 4.Self-Modification / Evolution The virus deletes old code, replaces itself, or loads new modules: •Could use Python exec(), JavaScript eval(), or dynamically compiled Swift/Objective-C. 5.Repeat Cycle It re-pings the LLM based on conditions: detection risk, OS version, or user behavior. ⸻ Why It’s a Big Deal •Adaptability: It could adjust its behavior based on live AI feedback. •Evasion: It can keep evolving faster than static signature-based antivirus tools. •Complexity: The LLM can act like a remote brain, guiding the virus like a general in a war room.
Finally did it. I wrote down how to build a code-editing agent. In 315 lines of code. And yes, it works. Very well. There is no moat.
