On Saturday 24th October, our MIST System was activated for its first real incident in the Southbound tunnel, in response to a vehicle fire. The Fixed Fire Suppression System was the first of its kind to be installed in a British tunnel, and it is a critical part of our tunnels safety. Activated via our SCADA monitoring system, the system can target three fire zones, including the affected zone plus one zone either side, to fully contain the fire until emergency services respond. While we hope it's rarely needed, Saturday's incident demonstrated exactly why this investment in safety and regular maintenance is so important. We are pleased to share that the incident was safely resolved within an hour, with no reported injuries, and attendance from the North East Ambulance Service was not required. A big thank you to our Operational Delivery team, as well as emergency services who responded quickly and professionally. #TyneTunnels #NorthEast

🚨Redheugh Bridge closed🚨 The Redheugh Bridge has this afternoon been closed due to high winds and motorists are being advised to only travel if necessary. We understand this causes further disruption with the closure of the Tyne Bridge but public safety must be a priority.

Manchester United's rabble of pathetic, over-entitled players push Carrick towards his place in the club's endless winter. But the chaos that has gripped United is not on him. It's on the Glazers, Ratcliffe, Berrada and Wilcox. dailymail.com/sport/football…

If he has got the backing of the hierarchy that traditionally means he's on thin ice , it's Wilson who should go ,he was in charge of disastrous summer transfer situation both coming and going
Despite recent defeats, Matthias Jaissle's job is NOT in danger, according to Lee Ryder. Ross Wilson and David Hopkinson are not swayed by any social media noise. Sitting 11th and still in both cups, Jaissle has the full backing of the hierarchy to turn things around, with a look toward January and summer recruitment. #NUFC #Magpie247 #Newcastle #NUFCNews

It will be a desperate manager who takes over if Wilcox is still there
INEOS are fully behind Jason Wilcox and will support the Manchester United director of football if he decides Michael Carrick’s time as manager should come to an end, and with the club making a huge decision on the manager in the wake of their Como thrashing, sources have confirmed to @TEAMtalk . teamtalk.com/manchester-unit…

Breaking: inflation up but not yet at levels seen under @MelJStride's party! Peaked at 11.1% Oct 2022 and higher than now every month until March 2024. Compound rate since May 2015 when Conservatives replaced Coalition was 3.2% a year CPI; 4.5% RPI. Rate under Labour 3.4% CPI, 3.9% RPI
BREAKING: Inflation highest in almost a year. Not all due to energy. Labour stoked demand with huge borrow and spend, higher taxes (some passed on to higher prices) and no strings attached public sector pay rises which damaged productivity. Labour own much of the inflation story.

She leads the party that froze tax allowances costing taxpayers over £40bn a year by now!
Britain has been taxed too much for too long. Andy Burnham’s answer? More tax. Conservatives will cut taxes, so you can keep more of what you earn.

This you?
The country is going down the pan and our Prime Minister is faffing around tweaking parking tickets. What is the point in Burnham if he refuses to touch the big issues like the ballooning benefits bill?
