Definitely a trip to remember to Alberta and BC, first got engaged to my amazing fiancé Erin, got to see some of the best natural environment Canada has to offer and finished it up by attending my first ever Calgary Stampede.

Canadian beef is not a negotiating chip! I made a statement in the @SenateCA today to recognize the importance of protecting the Canadian beef sector from the ongoing trade negotiations with Mercosur. There must be thorough consideration of the effects that a Mercosur trade deal will have on ALL Canadian sectors. Watch my statement here: youtu.be/8aLPNff3DEo @CanCattle @NACattleFeeders

BFO supports CCA in calling for a delay in the implementation of proposed federal traceability regulation changes, to allow outstanding industry questions and concerns to be addressed.
There is significant misinformation being shared on social media regarding CFIA’s proposed traceability regulations. CCA worked with provincial associations and other industry associations to provide input to ensure the regulations follow the Cattle Implementation Plan which was led by the cattle industry.
No new regulations were implemented on January 1, 2026.
CCA will continue to work with provincial members and governments to ensure that any proposed changes work for producers. We are calling for a pause to address the concerns that we are hearing.

We kicked off the OBYA Tour with a great stop at Forbes Farms. The Forbes family background calves in a @WeCover_Steel barn, run cow-calf pairs & raise replacement heifers. They highlighted how building good relationships with people can set you up to work together for decades.

It was a pleasure to sit down with @BeefFarmersON to talk about the future of Ontario’s cattle industry. As a lifelong cattle farmer, I know firsthand the dedication and resilience it takes to succeed in this sector—and the pride that comes with seeing that hard work pay off.

It was honour to present Jack Chaffe with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal earlier today.
Jack has helped build the beef industry in Ontario and Canada. Whether it is the Ontario Corn-Feed beef program, or advocating for our farm families abroad, Jack has been at the table. Congratulations Jack!

Canada's farmers and ranchers are repeatedly hit hard by the costly NDP-Liberal carbon tax.
When asked if the Liberal carbon rebate would cover rising input costs, the answer was clear: Not even close!
