Neat stuff coming for the Xperia 1 ii :) As someone who's day job is Android firmware development, I wanted to set myself an interesting challenge, Android Jellybean on a "modern" device. Since the 1 ii was blacklisted in Australia (at least the HK model), I've been looking for uses for it, so why not try something cursed! So far basically everything is working (excluding Celluar/GPS, and Camera is a huge WIP atm). GPU Acceleration is even working! Yes, this is fully native too (mostly, technically some of the hardware interfaces run in a chroot on top of Jellybean), but,,,,, I can't backport drivers I don't have the source for so :P

Minimal Phone 2 starts from $600 Used BlackBerry Q10: $60 Reverse engineered it and got a physical keyboard, SSH, and Claude Code in my pocket
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video contains OpenAI SynthID signals consistent with AI generation and does not depict a real reverse-engineered BlackBerry Q10, which runs 2013-era BlackBerry 10 OS incapable of the modern terminal/SSH/Claude features shown. x.com/lukey_stephens… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerr… openai.com/index/advancin… notebookcheck.net/Minimal-Phone-…

>you aren't going to be playing your PlayStation 2 in 2026 Ali has not heard of Brazil, or like any person interested in the sick ass library of the PS2 :P
Replying to @saraaa7447
To an extent, but tech products do have a lifespan, especially given how most users actually use/take care of them. You aren’t going to be playing your PlayStation 2 in 2026. And if you ask Apple to fix your clamshell iBook it’ll end up costing you as much as a new MacBook

this, literally scrambled to start archiving a site that the owners have 0 plan to migrate from a 2010~ build of PHP/vBulletin :/
the PHP stuff is dreadful because there's gonna be so many abandoned sites from the early 2010s that are just gonna get owned now

genuinely if theyre not funding local productions or anything (especially on YouTube and such), why the fuck do they feel entitled to this? Australia does some dumb shit, but this is genuinely a meme
A mandatory license to watch TV could soon apply to YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming services in the UK It currently costs £180 ($240) per year
