Type Ia supernova in JWST at 255 days: Serendipitous Nebular-phase JWST Imaging of SN Ia 2021aefx: Testing the Confinement of 56-Co Decay Energy @NessMayker @bigskybooms
This morning out of @osuresearch, a fantastic supernova study from @NessMayker & @bigskybooms. news.osu.edu/galactic-explos…
Reminder: Massive stars are not stars. They're binaries. Also, close binaries are not binaries. They're triple systems. (Moe & Di Stefano 2017; Tokovinin+2006:

Replaced other figure. Updated. Thanks to @veresp for noting that I had missed a handful of higher-fluence events. The Fermi catalog puts GRB 221009A at 3.9e-2 ergs/cm^2
Seems ... improbable. Plot motivated by thinking about neutrino constraints, rates, and reported fluence of 2.9e-02 ergs/cm^2 (from gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/gcn/gcn3/3…)

Maybe I did something wrong.
