I read both her and will’s book and a lot that relationship is Jada having to compromise and play the bad guy because will is likable and the bigger star
Jada Pinkett Smith clarifies the Red Table Talk “entanglement, revealing she and Will Smith had been completely separated since 2016 and why she took the blame as an adulteress
“There been several breakups between Will and I… 2016 came and we had the ultimate break. But the world didn’t know. And I think that that’s where some of the misconception about having an open marriage came into play because we were living lives as single people. And the world didn’t know… I played a part in the misconception of that narrative of allowing myself to be portrayed as an adulteress, allowing myself to be portrayed as someone that had betrayed Will, and that wasn’t the case. We broke up in 2016… When we got to the table, Will wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready for the world to know that. I had to respect that… I was ready to let go of the persona I had created around myself.”

Sometimes the child goes back, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes the parents go overseas and it takes years and years to get their papers so the child remains in someone else’s care.

A lot of Caribbean adoption is very informal. Someone has a child that they can’t take care of, and the child goes to live with a cousin/ aunty/ neighbour/ older couple with fertility issues who can take better care of them.

Because centuries of colonial rule successfully convinced people that Victorian modesty was their sacred tradition and now questioning it feels like a violation of their culture. It's harder to unlearn something.
