prompting topics in the style of robert caro instantly makes for a better read
I recently got to interview Robert Caro, who is my favorite author of all time. This gave me the excuse to reread his biographies of Lyndon Johnson and Robert Moses, and to compile my prep notes into this video essay. These guys pulled off some truly incredible schemes.

excellent thoughts on cyber
TLDR: Cyber is not a compelling risk adjusted return today. You momo losers can't convince me otherwise. Short $CRWD $OKTA / Long $MDB $NOW $CRWD and $OKTA are priced for perfection. The AI bull case can play out and these stocks can suck. Plenty of reasons to justify this view: 1) valuations are stupid 2) AI raises competitive risk in CYBER 3) cheaper, better, non-SW ways to play the AI story 4) non-cyber SW better risk adj return

days like this are a good reminder that you can't just own a portfolio of good businesses at low valuations without at least some ai bottlenecks thrown in

NOW clearly not a security stock bc its not up today days likes this you realize why CRWD gets a premium because it goes up alot, so deserves a premium for going up

Replying to @OnodaCapital
If u spent hours analyzing last weeks incidents and tried to conclude how to monetize investing based on them the last two names you would buy are Palo and Crwd which where the best names perf wise …that’s the irony of the space.

CRWD and PANW feel as dumb as zoom and peloton in 2021
Going to be hilarious next year when multiple cyber stocks go down 50%.

this is a reflection of how out-of-touch the average SF AI investor is than a negative read on Vail
Presented w/o comment other than… True story- the Vail board members I met had never heard of Instinct, let alone the other personal agents, at a time that it was growing 10% a day w/ 50%+ of its usage being travel and hospitality.

Even after the rip SPCX feels asymmetric to the upside index of frontier tech with lots of ways to win in three of the biggest markets ever (AI/comms/space), and extremely moated in 2 of the 3 Cult investor base, ST/event funds short, numbers great, Elon pump, cheap if #s work out, tsla merger potential. understand there is alot of NT risk and uncertainty, but can see case where this is 5-10x current value and still reasonably valued
seems like a buy -40% from peak if the ramp is anywhere near correct

$CBRS The most disruptive chip in decades, sitting at the heart of the AI revolution in a niche set for explosive inference growth over the next few years, already validated by the gods of AI... it’s worth just $25B? Are we insane? People demanding cheap multiples are very naive.

“Taste is the only moat” and it’s a logo in apple garamond
There are literally zero moats left unless you go to the portfolio tab on our website those are the only companies with moats

it’s called venture capital
one thing you learn as you get older the people who encourage you to take big risks don't actually want the best for you. they just want to see what happens
