“I honestly thought that when your child is dying, you would have 24/7 care at home. That isn’t the case." Proud to be hosting @Tog4ShortLives's panel event tonight with children’s palliative care experts like mum Clare, whose son Oliver died last year. bit.ly/4emsQEM

Day 1 of running 11kms a day for 11 days in honour of Henry’s 11th birthday, I’m raising money for @guidedogs to name a guide dog puppy ‘Henry’, so Henry can continue his legacy of kindness & helping others in his favourite form, a black Labrador 🐾 henryluk.muchloved.com

Today is Henry’s 11th birthday, & our 2nd without him. Henry LOVED black labradors & was passionate about helping others. Today, in honour of his birthday, can you help us raise £5000 for @guidedogs to name a black Labrador guide dog puppy ‘Henry’? 💚 henryluk.muchloved.com

This week, I started to write, to share Neve's story and my own. I want to create connections and start discussions. With Neve as my companion, I hope to open conversations about illness, caring, dying, death and grief. The link to my writing is in my profile 1/2

Please read. Please subscribe. Please share. Together @EmilyTammam and Neve are opening up conversations about illness, caring, dying, death and grief. This companionship is a very precious gift to the world that we can all learn from and will touch your heart and soul.
I was lucky enough to know and love Neve. Her mother - @EmilyTammam - is writing with great beauty and honesty about the loss of this little girl. I recommend subscribing to her substack - emilytammam.substack.com/p/t…

For mum Britt, the prospect of cuts to vital children’s hospice services is unacceptable. We agree. That’s why we’re calling on the Gov and @NHSEngland to maintain the £25m Children’s Hospice Grant. Sign the petition, #SaveTheGrant, protect our hospices: togetherforshortlives.org.uk…

One year ago today I set off to cycle to every Children’s Hospice in the UK #ChildrensHospiceWeek I learnt what the human body & mind can do when it’s pushed to its limits, a constant reminder of what our children & families face every day and why children’s hospices are VITAL
On behalf of parents and carers across the country, I would like to say a huge thank you to all those working in Children’s Hospices. You are a shining light to so many families in their darkest times and your efforts do not go unnoticed.

It is with sadness I share that Neve, who represented week 1 of CHAT UK,died peacefully on the 30th April. Neve taught us the importance of love, community, compassion & connection. Hold those values dear & spread them wide, because in life & death they truly make a difference.

Neve and her family challenged the perception of palliative care by embracing it at the earliest possible opportunity. A term most people think of as sadness she showed is actually about the importance of finding the joy.

She showed us it is about ensuring children have the best and most specialist care available to reduce pain and suffering wherever possible to make finding those moments of joy the focus. Thank you Neve ❤️ You can read Neve’s story here: chatukproject.com/stories/ne…
