What Sherry Holmes says is right on the money! We need to inspire the next generation about being in the trades! #WomenInConstruction
I think kids should be exposed to the trades in schools. As a contractor's daughter myself, I never thought the trades were a viable career option for me. It's all about promoting the trades in a positive light!

Canadians will never forget the horror of December 6th, 1989. We will never forget the fourteen women murdered that day. We will not stop building a country where every woman and girl can live free and safe from misogyny and gender-based violence.

CHBA is deeply concerned by the lack of measures to support the homeownership aspirations of Canadians in #Budget2025. Beyond reiterating the federal pledge to remove the GST on new homes for first-time buyers – which has still not made its way through the parliamentary process and requires an expansion to all buyers to meaningfully address affordability challenges – #Budget2025 places heavy focus on Build Canada Homes (BCH), which is squarely focused on homelessness and increasing Canada’s social housing stock. While measures to support government-subsidized housing are needed, that won’t support market-rate housing, where 95% of Canadians live. The number of units that get built under BCH will only represent less than 1% of the total housing starts required to reach the federal government’s goal of 500,000 units per year. There are many more policy measures, far beyond BCH, that need to be enacted to address the #housingaffordability and supply crisis.
