Tony Hawk's Underground released on PS2 23 years ago today. Creating your own skater, starting in New Jersey, and working your way up to becoming a pro made it feel like your own story. Getting off your board to explore was a huge change. Eric Sparrow was such a bastard.

bruh, this freestyle is so fire, it’s like God himself orchestrated Havoc to produce that beat
Anderson .Paak and Cordae dropped a freestyle over Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm” on the Justin Credible Freestyle Series 🎙️ “I still can’t f*ck with Justin Timberlake, gentrified the Rap game, we only asked to renovate”

Here is another one I was asked: why did Prop Joe act so soft and respectful toward Marlo the whole show, especially when you think about how much he helped him out even though Slim Charles warned him early on to watch Marlo closely because he's dangerous and not like the rest? I mean, Instead of listening, Joe brings Marlo into the Co-Op to give him access to the clean product, sets him up with resources, and even drops a dime about the homicide unit's wiretap on his rim shop, which literally saved Marlo's entire crew from catching a high-profile indictment. Joe consistently protected him, and by trying to show Marlo how to be a businessman, he unwittingly taught an apex predator how to operate on a higher level. Honestly, it’s hard to digest how a mastermind as intelligent and strategic as Prop Joe couldn't see that he was actively making himself completely expendable. I want you guys to drop your thoughts on this one, but my way of looking at this is that Joe was completely trapped by his own historical success as a manipulator. For years, Joe had successfully managed high-profile beefs by playing sides against each other and acting as the necessary bridge between the product and the street. He thought he could use Omar to keep Marlo off-balance, and then use Marlo to check the others in the Co-Op, always positioning himself as the indispensable savior in the middle. He assumed Marlo would play the game like Avon or Stringer Bell, where there was always room for parlay and truces. But Marlo was a new Gen predator who didn't want a seat at the table, he wanted the entire room, and Joe’s eagerness to help him just gave Marlo the exact keys he needed to bypass the middleman and go direct to the Greek😑 #TheWire #Marlo #PropJoe #TheGreek #Stringerbell

We've been getting a lot of questions lately about how the Internet Archive digitizes books. The short answer: page by page, by hand. You may remember our viral 2021 video of Eliza Zhang scanning a book. That's still how we do it. Meet Eliza, and learn how we scan books: blog.archive.org/2021/02/09/…

Jason Alexander says Seinfeld's cast demanded $1,000,000 per episode because continuing to play George, Elaine, and Kramer would hurt their careers “The million dollar figure actually first came out of Julia's mouth. It was not a wild I wish I got a million dollars. There had been actual research done. We knew that for the network alone, every episode of Seinfeld generated $14 million of profit. Sheer profit for the network alone, let alone Castle Rock and the syndication participants” “We had argued that after five years of being in Seinfeld, there was no upside in the long run for the three of us to continue doing the show. It had made us celebrities. It had made us some money. But if we were going to be actors with careers that extended where we needed to play different roles, continuing to put out the image of George, Elaine, and Kramer was actually detrimental to our long run careers. So why was there any incentive for us to be in this for the long run unless those shows were extremely profitable to us. We argued that we needed to be cut in on syndication. We needed syndication points. We were told, in no small terms, to go take a hike” “When we got into the bargaining chair and NBC so desperately wanted to have another season or another two seasons, we said again, syndication. Our salaries are fine, but you're making such massive profits in syndication, profits of $3 to $4 million per show into infinity, and you don't want to give us any of that. In order for us to feel good about doing this show, I want to leave the most successful half hour in the history of television knowing that I never have to work again. That is what I require, or you can't have my services” “Knowing what all the revenues were, what we would have made had they given us the syndication, what everybody was making upfront, we tried to figure out what percentage of the success formula of the show were the three of us. We came up with Jerry, Larry, the writers, us, and everything else. As one fifth of that, we said here's the number, $1 million an episode”

One of the greatest sitcom scenes ever written. Philip Baker Hall is phenomenal as Lt. Bookman, the Library Cop, in SEINFELD (1989–1998), a performance that changed his career forever.
