this ao3 situation is a big reminder of how much more respectful and appreciative we should all be towards both fic writers and the volunteers working to maintain and restore the site, and how meaningless if not harmful discourses about policing writing are

in the first case humanity equals human being regardless of any moral considerations
in the second case humanity equals a set of values like compassion capacity to love and such making not every human being necessarily morally human and not every human necessarily a human being +
but when it comes to denying dottore’s humanity therefore denying he possesses a series of positive moral qualities - this easily stings both for those who believe dottore does in fact possess such qualities alongside his negative traits +
pantalone rejecting 18’s founding request is an important sign of recognition bc it means he’s held to the same standards as the other segments, and as much as the refusal annoys 18 i think pantalone being lenient towards him just bc he’s younger would frustrate 18 even more
i hc all segments to be good at drawing but 18’s hand is particularly trained and precise cause hes always scribbling and sketching and writing
