Bumping this. Big week for single cards dropping 80%.
Sports cards have multiple examples of cards falling from $100,000-300,000 to under $20,000 I can’t think of a single example of a similar drop in Pokemon cards

BREAKING: Europe is under a massive cyber attack, with supermarket fridges and freezers in Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia all hacked today by raising temperatures to up to 50°C, destroying huge quantities of food, per Reuters. "Everything is destroyed," a sales manager in Sweden said, adding that "there has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees." More than 40 supermarkets in Belgium and Luxembourg were affected. "I only have two words for them: wake up, please, because there's something going on," a store manager in Belgium said. This follows a similar cyberattack last month that hit hundreds of supermarkets in France, raising freezers as high as 80°C and causing major food losses. It also comes after freezers at 6 US military bases mysteriously malfunctioned, spoiling large quantities of food, which the Pentagon is investigating as a suspected cyberattack.

Deleting @Muse. After it was unable to place a phone call to order me dinner last night, it asks if I ‘still want it today’ and gives me a script. I know how to order food, I’m just lazy. And by the looks of it, Muse is too. Deleted !

In September a friend bought this Skyridge Machamp during the vintage hype for 5k with the intention of flipping. I told him he should immediately send to auction, since it would take 2 weeks to go live and it's difficult to time the top on these market squeezes His response was "I'm going to wait until it hits 40k". Here's the problem I have with this logic - try to picture who is going to buy this card for 40k... - Billionaires might, but there's only ~5 of them bidding for their collections and once they have them they'll move on to the next card - Pop 184 means it's liquid enough to recover quickly after a squeeze - Normal collectors either can't afford paying this much or will find better value elsewhere - Alleged family office / institutional funds are here to make money, and any competent manager wouldn't want to buy the top So all that leaves are other speculators who are trying to ride the train and dump on the next poor soul without thinking through the underlying value How did this turn out? He sent it to auction a couple weeks ago when prices started dropping, but pulled it when things started crashing so it's now waiting in the vault. Price peaked at 30k and is now sitting at 4k Pokemon has highkey turned into memecoin trading, and a lot of speculators are learning an expensive lesson in upnl vs realized gains

Been entrusting @bot with some everyday tasks and it’s been crushing it. Today it found my favorite fragrance (which has been discontinued by the brand) and ordered it to one of my saved addresses with a credit card saved on file.

Feels pretty clear that October was a blow off top for vintage and mid Pokemon cards I’ve been trying to lighten my bags a bit, one cool thing is websites that don’t update their FDV and bids, just sold a card that I can buy on eBay for 8k for 9.7k to a platform because they think it’s still worth the 12k it was worth three weeks ago Free

Logan Paul reveals he offered an 11 year old $25,000 for an ungraded Skyridge Gengar Pokémon card but the kid turned him down and ended up selling it for $209,000 a few months later after getting a Beckett 10 grade “I said Owen, I'll make you an offer right now. I’ll give you $25,000 for the card” “He said, nah. You take your 25 and shove it up your… I’m gonna get this graded myself” “Got it graded with PSA. Got a 10 but the cert online said it was a 9. Went to Beckett. Graded it with Beckett. 10” “It sold on Goldin for $209,000”

Transplants yearn for the lines.
Also, there’s currently the most insane line I’ve ever seen at Court Sq — upwards of 200 people waiting to get a Halloween-themed subway map from the MTA.

Jason won't accept. He gets clicks (as evidenced by this) from his "takes." Besides that, he doesn't have the money. Last I checked, he was running a "course" on "how to angel invest."
Hey @Jason… want an easy $3 million? I agree to the same terms as Grant just offered you (below). Add @dotkrueger’s original bet to the mix and you have $3M Saying “Bitcoin is dead” is free. Let’s see if you have conviction.

"Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again." — Jason Calacanis Jason, I'll bet you $1,000,000 that you're wrong. Here are the terms: Bitcoin must exceed $126,210.50 (its October 2025 ATH) before October 28, 2036. If Bitcoin does, I win $1 million. If it doesn't, you win $1 million. We each put $1 million into independent escrow, with a mutually agreed custodian and objective price oracle. The bet ends immediately if Bitcoin breaks the record. Otherwise, it settles on October 28, 2036. No excuses. No moving the goalposts. You said NEVER. I'm giving you just 10 years. Do we have a bet?

The last time Jason tweeted this Bitcoin went up 376% after
A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started. Give me three minutes to explain why you should dump it now. Outflows from ETFs are signal and will continue. We will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months. Why? Because there are far too many dynamic places to put your money that are creating MUCH more value. Why put your resources into a dead network that offers nothing beyond a store of value? What's the point of place the BTC be if Bitcoin's Ponzi-scheme nature has gone away!?! The viral nature of bitcoin was it's power... if you didn't own you were MOCKED! Now? Completely reasonable, heck, SMARTER, to ignore bitcoin and place other bets! No one is trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin anymore... the memes and NFTs are gone. No one is saying $ BTC can change the world, because it won't — and BECAUSE AI HAS! Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence because one provides little to no value, and the other provides unlimited upside for humanity. This should be obvious to everyone right now. Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again.

Sotheby’s just sold Jodi, a Nanotyrannus (a smallish friend of T-Rex) for: *$47,000,000* High estimate was $9M. 2nd most expensive dinosaur EVER. I really think it’s because A) low estimate was very inviting B) it’s the perfect size at ~20ft This is going in a home, imo

I tried the Delta One lounge last week (JFK) for the first time. I don't typically fly biz/first (I prefer economy for several reasons, and think biz/first are for poor people) but I bought a last minute flight and it barely cost more, so I gave it a shot. The lounge itself was so crowded I had to wait 90 mins for a massage chair (the kind that's $3 at a highway rest stop). I was 10 mins late because I was eating, and the gatekeeper said they gave away my spot and there were 28 people ahead of me if I wanted to put my name on the list again. I had to go board my flight. The food was good, the rest of the staff (except the massage chair gatekeeper) was very nice and accommodating, but the lounge itself was mid (and the flight itself - on an A330 - wasn't more comfortable than economy for me), so I will be going back to flying economy and arriving at the airport ~30 mins before boarding commences, so I have time to go through security - and nothing more.
Dumped Amex Platinum last year. Garbage product. The airport lounges are awful. We hit up a regular airport bar/restaurant or even just an empty gate to chill at. It's infinitely better than the putting your name on a waitlist for access to the Amex homeless shelter.
