i think the issue is that it would require changing what a competitive format is. cedh is a competitive format in the same way there is competitive monopoly, not in the same way the PT is competitive, IMO

cEDH is a really silly format. It's fun, but I don't think it will ever be balanced or a viable competitive format.

2 months in: non USA cedh is ridiculously cool, feels like im playing yet another format that “isnt” cedh, but “isnt” 60 card. it definitely feels like MTG, which USA cedh definitely does not feel like to me.

Unfortunately I don’t think it can ever work in the same way in the US because of a number of different factors but I think after these two weeks I’m pretty comfortable saying playing CEDH in Japan is a more enjoyable experience overall.
