Me (eating the zucchini bread I made today): what did I do to deserve this delicious bread?
Me: well, I guess I did bake it.
I watched the NASA livestream of the eclipse today and it was pretty great because in every city, they had scientists live reacting. They were all so moved. These are people who study the sun, moon, or eclipses, seeing the object of their work take shape in front of them. Lovely.
Y’all, as someone with only one functioning retina, I beg you, please don’t destroy your eyes today by looking directly at the eclipse. #Eclipse
I have spent the last week and a half in three different time zones plus the time change (Central to Eastern back to Central then to Pacific and now back to Central but in Standard time!!) and that means my internal clock is totally messed up. Pray for me!
I forgot just how good #OurFlagMeansDeath is. What a lovely start to this season.
I was so tired last night after dinner, I put a bag of tortilla chips in my fridge. How’s your week going?
In one move, I managed to drop and shatter BOTH of my favorite ceramic mugs this morning, so that’s how my day is going.

So we’re asking for donations one last time. gofundme.com/f/please-help-e…
Even a few dollars, if we all chipped in, could help us meet this goal quickly. He’s so close to making it through this.

Hello friends.
I have some stressful and somber news. My family and I are on the brink of homelessness. This is a very stressful time for us.
At this point at least $5000 needed to stay housed. If you have any extra funds, your assistance is appreciated

You gotta watch this speech from Rep Justin Jones as Tennessee Republicans attempt to expel him and two others for simply standing with students demanding gun safety. Republicans know they are on the losing side of history. This is proof

I had planned on cleaning my apartment today to start the year fresh tomorrow, but I didn’t count on there being sun! I just want to lie on the couch and bask in it like a cat!!

Folkwise has put together a #WKUFolkStudies resource guide. The greatest help we can provide to them rn is continue to raise visibility of the program’s impact on us all. #ShareYourVoice #WKU #Folklore #FolkloreThursday #Education

Folkwise is distressed by the news of losing an important and rigorous Folklore Masters Program at Western Kentucky University. The work of folklorists will struggle to continue without academic programs that specialize in public folklore and ethnographic methodologies. 🧵
I know so many amazing folklorists who've come out of/are currently enrolled in @WKU's folklore program--both public folklorists and academic folklorists--and they have contributed so much to the field. Losing this program would be devastating. We must fight to save it!
Rewatching Ted Lasso and catching all the gems I forgot about. A quote from the first episode that basically sums up Ted as a character?
Rebecca: oh, do you believe in ghosts, Ted?
Ted: I do. But more importantly, I think they need to believe in themselves, you know?
