How can you not love this country?
Ahead of today’s first World Cup game, Bosnian legend Edin Džeko writes a letter to the children of Bosnia, reflecting on what it meant to survive war as a child and on the horrors still unfolding in the world today: “In the end, we survived. Looking back, I’m amazed at how strong we were. We were just little kids. But there was no point to the war. All those innocent people killed, and for what? For money. Power. Ego.  For nothing.  When there is war on the news today, I feel sick. I don’t want to see it anywhere. For some reason, adults never learn.” theplayerstribune.com/edin-d…

Shuttering E&E News goes directly against what management told staff earlier this year, when our colleagues were asked to consider buyouts. A message from PEN Guild leadership 👇
New: Politico is folding E&E, the energy trade publication it bought in 2020. The company says it is reorganizing its energy coverage under the Politico brand and launching a series of new state and global energy newsletters.

LCOE is such a flawed metric, its use probably does more harm than good. Whatever small marginal value it provides as a simple way to compare resources is more than wiped out by the confusion it creates from being completely disconnected with how power markets actually work.
