Let me tell you why Araujo is doing well at Liverpool.
Jordi Cruyff left Barcelona to join Man United in the 90s.
He was coming from Spain where if you dribble a player or do a skill, the fans get off their seats.
He said when he came to England, Giggs could make a dribble and the fans were happy, but Roy Keane makes a tackle and the whole stadium erupts. It was his biggest shock, to find out that tackles are more celebrated in that part of the world.
Araujo did well for Barcelona under Xavi, we were not the best of football this period, not the usual Barcelona, we were having lots of 1-0 wins and scrappy wins, he did well because he’s a passionate defender, most South American defenders are modelled the same way. I’ll describe him as a “kusibe” kind of player. Ask your Yoruba friend to translate.
When it got to a coach that required defenders to play and be good on the ball, he’s decent but he’s not that guy. Very error prone and that implied that you’re not playing to his strength, hence, his struggles under Flick.
He’s now come to the premier league, a league made for mad people, intensity personified. What a match-made in heaven. The marriage has been beautiful. Every tackle is rewarded with cheers from the fans, which gives Araujo more and more confidence.
Can you see that sometimes even in today’s game, you probably expected him to calm and clear the ball towards a mate, but he just puts it out or drops a slide, guess what, the fans love it…but in a Barcelona, you cannot turn over possession to your opponents even if you’re making a clearance.
It is different here, Araujo is intense, he can tackle, he can pull, he’s strong, a proper beast. This is the league made for him. League of madness😂
So easy to always come out with an apology. How many so far this season already? Problem here, the are zero repercussions for the PGMOL or the officials. So nothing will change

Absolutely bang on from Keane.
How good City’s team is, or how good the individuals are, is a total irrelevance. It was all built on lies. None of it exists without them breaking the rules. Literally every single game they’ve won since 2009 is pointless.

There’s something sinister about watching a team caught cheating play week in, week out in a competition where they’ve been found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges. It makes a mockery of the competition and, frankly, makes the whole thing look like a joke.
This league is fcuked. I have no motivation to continue watching if these scumbags aren't punished and allowed to continue cheating. And the cherry on top is Cherki tapping the badge showing us all he/they don't give AF about the charges.

I genuinely feel sick.
They’re cheating right in front of our faces and the Premier League are letting it happen.
Falling out of love with football rapidly.

Sickening. Haaland asks for a red. Then he scores. The league has zero integrity at the moment. It's a farce

Cooked the books and basically said we’ve made £900 Million in revenue is absolutely WILD. Said we got £340 million sponsors and commercial etc etc. when only really got £43 million 🤣🤣🤣. Teams have been robbed titles and trophies…. Before you all go, it was won on the pitch the players deserve it…..
If you’d gone by the rules like Newcastle, like Aston Villa you wouldn’t probably have half those players!!! Man City moving absolutely wild 🤣🤣 thought they would get away with it as well, hahahaha zero sympathy, now use are f@#*ed take all your trophies to the championship. #mancity

Hard watching any game in the Premier League at the moment.
The referees get more of the spotlight than the players.
PGMOL under Howard Webb is atrocious and only getting worse.
🚨 Roy Keane on Nottingham Forest’s penalty against Liverpool:
🗣️ Keane: “That’s never a penalty for me. The first thing I’m looking at is when the contact actually happens. Williams has already taken the shot. The ball is gone. Then there’s slight contact with Alisson afterwards.
So what exactly has Alisson stopped him from doing? He’s already done what he wanted to do. He got his shot away.
If Alisson takes him out before he can shoot, completely different conversation. But you can’t have a player complete the chance, miss it, then give him another chance from the penalty spot because there’s a bit of contact afterwards.
And it’s not some reckless challenge where Alisson has gone through him either. We’re talking about slight contact after the ball has already left his foot.
I actually think Iraola’s answer afterwards tells you something. He says, ‘I’ll leave it to you to decide if it was a penalty or not.’ Of course he will. His team got the penalty.
Forest will take it, absolutely. But for me Liverpool have every right to be furious. Williams had his chance. You don’t give him another one because of what happened after the shot.”

Looks like Liverpool will again get another apology from PGMOL...
Two games in and we are seeing the same shit..
Michael Oliver needs to be held accountable...

Exceptionally strong stance and statement by UEFA in opposition to Gianni Infantino’s proposal.
Calling out that “it is not a ‘democratic decision’, but governance by intimidation - an act of coercion” and would mean “every decision shaping the future of football is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.”
Wrapped up beautifully by this mic drop:
“UEFA national teams will not participate in any FIFA competition for so long as these proposals remain alive, unless this proposal has been abandoned in its entirety and binding assurances have been given that FIFA will never again open its governance or competitions to private ownership.
“Nobody should be in any doubt: UEFA and its national associations will oppose these plans with absolute determination.
“There are moments when institutions are judged not by what they are prepared to accept, but by what they refuse to compromise. This is one of those moments.
Some things are simply too important to sell. The FIFA World Cup belongs to football. It always will.”

🚨Alisson Becker on Staying at Liverpool:
🗣️"There has been so much noise lately, but I wanted to clear the air myself.
I’ve seen all the stories about Saudi Arabia and Juventus, but I want to be 100% clear: these are just rumors. My focus is entirely here at Liverpool. I have a contract, I’m fit, and I’m ready to give everything for this club again this season.
I’ve heard the talk, but my heart is at Anfield. We’re in a period of transition, and I’m fully committed to being the leader this team needs between the sticks. There’s no place I’d rather be than here, playing for our fans and fighting for every trophy in front of us.
Let’s get back to work. YNWA"

I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.

Cape Verde, one of the smallest nations at the tournament, just took world champions Argentina to the brink of penalties. If this World Cup on American soil doesn’t make America fall in love with football, I don’t know what will.

Hydration breaks.
Football is a game of momentum and anyone who's ever watched a thrilling 90 minutes would agree that most players or supporters would give up a half time break when a great game is being played. Why? Stops destroy that momentum and flow of the incredible spectacle of association football.
Our sport, a 150 year old sport no less, is the world's most popular to watch and to play.
Not the NFL
Not the NBA
Not MLB
Association Football.
So a few pundits, fans and journalists doing TV and sponsors bidding by opining that hydration breaks are a good idea couldn't give one good reason as to how the game would be made better.
Coaches work SEVEN DAYS A WEEK to drill instruction into players, so in game instruction isn't needed.
Players can hydrate whenever they like. They're not fucking babies needing a feed.
The breaks CREATE a STOP OF MOMENTUM. And I've never seen one match in thousands I've watched or played in that's been better with more stoppages. Not ONE.
So to this angling for change, what makes you think you're so special to change the world's most popular sport to play and watch that's been both of those things for 150 years?
Minor tweaks? Absolutely. The back pass rule was being abused, so it was changed. A materially good thing for the players and fans.
More breaks? At a time where stops in play for diving, cheating, VAR etc are colliding with hydration breaks? No thanks.
Those wanting this are working for broadcasters and sponsors who want a bigger piece of the game. Never forget that.
Football. A simple game ruined by football illiterate fucknuts.
